Scribbly Cottage

Friday, August 19, 2011. Yes, it does sometimes! This summer has been a disappointment, apart from the early bit so when the sun does come out, it's wise to make the most of it! Looking past the lifeguard hut towards St Ives. I adore these firey crocosmia, they set the hedgerows and moors ablaze! Friday, July 29, 2011. Vintage Board meet, Lusty Glaze. Looking across to Newquay from Lusty. Here's another Surfrider. Lovely. The british Museum of Surfing van was there with a goodly selection of nice boards.

Scribbly Cottage: January 2010

http://scribblycottage.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, January 26, 2010. A Cool walk on Praa Sands. Saturday late afternoon and surf was up, so Mart loaded up Boris the faithful Vee Dub with board and dog and we sped off the few miles to Praa Sands. Praa is just along the coast from Penzance, a steeply sloping beach, pretty area. Mart suited up, grabbed his board and was in like a shot. Not me. I was full of cold and not inclined to bare a single centimetre of flesh to the cooly-blowing wind! That and I don't have a winter wetsuit! It's Cornwall&#46...

Scribbly Cottage: December 2009

http://scribblycottage.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 29, 2009. Christmas in Kernow (Cornwall). Yesterday we decided to walk up to the carn at Bolenowe, where I was sure there would be panoramic views. I wasn't wrong. Starting off from our gate. A few turns and down the lane towards the moor. Charlie finds something of interest where the brook tumbles underground. Our house rear is one of those behind the field. Jacobs sheep in the field up the lane. The view from the top. In the distance is St Ives Bay. Old mine buildings dot the landscape.

Scribbly Cottage: May 2010

http://scribblycottage.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 09, 2010. This is our local beach, Gwithian. It's a great place to surf or walk and is just a few miles from where we live. There's a car park at the beach, but as the charges have just gone up again, we like to park further away and walk over the sand dunes. There's Gwithian lighthouse in the distance. Just beyond the headland is a seal colony. Today the beach is almost deserted, even though it's near the bank holiday. That's St Ives in the distance. It's yours truly and Charlie. Simple temp...

Just a few snaps I took on the 26th June of some lovely old sticks. is it me/the angle of photo, but has that Surf Rider got a narrowed nose? Here's another Surfrider. Lovely. More belly goodness.these belong to Sean. He told me the board with the Classic board with the girl logo is the only one that's allowed in his flat! The british Museum of Surfing van was there with a goodly selection of nice boards.

Monday, November 29, 2010. Today we were treated to another dollop of snow, along with some quite meaty - sounding thunderstorms! Just a few pics taken on a short walk out of the village today, once it stopped snowing:. Thursday, November 11, 2010. Back from the printers. Worry not.I'm back on the case.and they're all done and printed, it's not even December! Swellchaser: November 2011

http://swellchaser.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Surfing longboard and bellyboard in Kernow. Sunday, November 27, 2011. That was a week that was. A bit of trial at times as Sue and self tackle the sort of problems that many in these troubled financial times have to face. Many obviously way worse off than ourselves. Throw in the Pirates losing so painfully at Bristol last Sunday, and then again up at Doncaster for the first time since 2002; the combination of which does little to enhance the mood. I managed to hook up a good half dozen good lefts and a ...

Monday, July 17, 2006. One of my personal beliefs are when you get married or decide to live together for that matter; you both sacrifice something of yourself to make the relationship work. Here is a digital piece “The Wedding Groom” produced in Corel Painter IX. To see a quick step by step progression of the Wedding Groom if you are interested. Links to this post. Tuesday, January 16, 2007. Back in the living. i would first off like to say a belated but sincere HAPPY NEW YEAR. To all my illustrator and internet friends… I wish you all good fortune and good health this coming year. Now to post photos if a little late of the wonderful SSOF parcel I received before Christmas from Julia French Fancy. When opening the Christmas SSOF parcel my eyes fell upon presents sumptuously wrapped in royal purple paper and tied up with taffeta ribbon trimmed with gold beads. So pl...

Wednesday, October 18, 2006. I had a lovely surprise waiting for me when I returned from my monthly outing to the Doctors yesterday. Morning, An unofficial SOSF gift from my friends Penny and Toby at Natural Attrill. Opening the small box I was greeted by a lovely pair of earrings handmade by the ever talented Toby and I have been wearing them ever since. Thank you again Penny and Toby for my ‘cheer up’ gift they really did put a smile on my face. Thank heavens for digital cameras after several attempts.

Wednesday, August 16, 2006. Idyllic Summer and lovely faeries. It’s a lovely summer day here and with Gretel. Posting about the Society of Secret Fairies. I thought I’d post a photo I took of my friend Claire’s daughter last summer in my garden. Taken with a Canon A30 Power Shot, worked on in Photoshop, I then printed a 10 x 8 print which I gave to my friend as a reminder of a lovely afternoon. Hope all of you are having a lovely idyllic summer. Links to this post. Friday, August 04, 2006.

Wednesday, December 06, 2006. A CARROT, AN EGG, AND A CUP OF COFFEE. A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me, what do you see? Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied. Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same advers...

Debora Burr Illustration & Design: The SOSF (Society of Secret Fairies) have struck again

Thursday, October 19, 2006. The SOSF (Society of Secret Fairies) have struck again. A cheery postman still wearing shorts. Its very mild for this time of year). Knocked on my door this morning with a surprise parcel from across the ocean, the SOSF have struck again. A coveted box filled with goodies. I begin to open colourfully wrapped parcel after parcel. A handful of magnets. some stickers. All will be worn while i scare the bejesuses out of the kids who knock on our door this Halloween. From cover to ...

Debora Burr Illustration & Design: Butterflies and Bees

http://deboraburr.blogspot.com/2006/08/butterflies-and-bees_04.html

Friday, August 04, 2006. There seems to be an abundance of butterflies and insects about this summer and I have been able to capture some great shots in the garden which I thought I’d share here. On the cornflower seem to be having a good day judging by the pollen he had collected and it’s a win-win situation the butterflies and bees get a well earned pesticide free meal, and we get the pleasure of beautiful flowers and a bumper crop of fruit and vegetables. Heee heee, I dont know what I am talking about!
