Juan José Fustero, who lived in the Piru-Camulos area, billed himself as "the last of the Piru Indians." Possibly the last full-blooded Tataviam Indian (a subject of some dispute); Fustero died June 30, 1921, at or near Rancho Camulos. NOTE: For many years, Fustero’s death was incorrectly reported as having occurred in 1916. His death certificate, on file with the Ventura County Recorder, indicates the correct date was 1921. Photos, Video and Commentary from a Senior Female Hiker. Sunday, April 19, 2015. Nice Morning Hike At Vasquez Rocks County Park. Decided to get up early this morning and take Hiker up to Vasquez Rocks County Park for a hike. By the time we got back, the gate was open and so into the park we went for our hike. There were a lot of docents there cleaning up the area, so we tried to head out in areas where they were not working. Found a few spots where there were a few wild flowers still growing, but not many.
