The Atlantic waters off Roundstone yeild huge numbers of many species. Drift fishing over the many reefs in 15 to 50m of water will yield Pollack, Ling, Cod, Coalfish, Wrasse and Mackerel and many others . Anchoring up and bottom fishing over sand and gravel will yeild many types of Ray and other flatfish like Plaice, Dabs and Turbot. Bull huss are very common and put up a tremendous fight. The boat is also equipped with a "fighting chair" for the giant Blue Fin Tuna that can be found off-shore.

Pat Conneely's wife Margaret runs the Harbour View B&B in Roundstone. It offers superb accomodation and is "Bord Failte" approved. Its position offers great views of the bay and Roundstone harbour where the Lady Marlyn is moored. It is very close to the pubs and restaurants and has plenty of private parking and freezer facilities. Many groups choose to stay with the skipper where they can discuss the day's fishing and plan their next trip. The cost is 30.00 per night.

The boat is a "Lochan 40" with twin Volvo engines and a top speed of 22 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots. Fast enough to get to the fishing ground quickly and comfortably. The Lady Marlyn can accommodate 12 anglers in comfort and the cabin has seating for the same number.The boat also has a galley and toilet. Fully equipped with modern electronics, radar, gps, fish finder, radio and emergency beacons.

Roundstone Sea Angling
Roundstone village is one of the most attractive small fishing villages in the west of Ireland. The harbour is very sheltered and can be used even at the lowest point of the tide. However, it is only a short sail to the prolific fishing reefs and to the deeper water of the Atlantic. Roundstone village itself is very lively with lots of pubs, restaurants and cafes. Traditional music in the pubs and hotels at night is also a feature many visitors enjoy.
