October 30, 2015. Friday (mostly) Finish: Charmed and Spellbound. October 30, 2015. When Cotton and Steel's Spellbound. Came out earlier this year, I instantly fell in love. I love creepy and spooky fabrics, but they're usually too "Halloween." But these prints are something that I'll want to have around all year. (Which is good, since I didn't get this quilted up in time to use while watching Halloween movies.). Was nice enough to send me a layer cake. After much deliberation, this layout seemed the bes...

The Girl Loves Orange: Time to head out
http://orangequeen1.blogspot.com/2014/09/time-to-head-out.html
The Girl Loves Orange. Friday, September 12, 2014. Time to head out. Well, the hours are ticking down for the big move. The 2 day drive starts tomorrow. It has been quite the summer. Adjustments all over the place. Emotions running high, calm, high.vicious. Things I will look forward to: cooking real meals, laundry in my own home, perhaps a little television and learning how to survive humid weather! It is a simple list but I know it will be great. To be continued.soon. September 12, 2014 at 3:33 PM.

The Girl Loves Orange: February is just about over!
http://orangequeen1.blogspot.com/2015/02/february-is-just-about-over.html
The Girl Loves Orange. Saturday, February 28, 2015. February is just about over! Wellgot one thing finished this month. Actually that's all I did in the crafty department. I enlarged the block to a 21 inch block. Simple and I had fun. Of course, I'm low on large chunks of batting but flush with insulbrite. So it could double as a giant potholder! In other news, my kitchen is finally finished and it is actually a nice space with lots of work surface. I love it. Hope you are all creative! There Was A Sale.

The Girl Loves Orange: Retirement Ramblings
http://orangequeen1.blogspot.com/2014/12/retirement-ramblings.html
The Girl Loves Orange. Monday, December 8, 2014. Well, it has been a while. I was nudged a week or so ago to write a post. This is how long it has taken me to get here. Right now I'm doing laundry and waiting for butter to soften so I can bake 2 more batches of cookies! Baked two batches yesterday. I did manage to make a table topper that I have been wanting to make for a couple of years. I do believe I bought the pattern a couple of years ago. I'm quick! Jewel tones for the holidays! Love it. We got...

The Girl Loves Orange: Happy New Year! 8 days late!!!
http://orangequeen1.blogspot.com/2015/01/happy-new-year-8-days-late.html
The Girl Loves Orange. Thursday, January 8, 2015. Happy 2015. I was so ready for a new year and my hope is that this will be a much calmer year than 2014. So much happened in 2014 that I am glad to close the chapter on the year. I did a tiny bit of crafty for the holidays. Made a couple of wine bags and a tiny topper for our step-aunt, who lives here in the retirement community. We have friends coming from New Hampshire next week and we are looking forward to that visit. I will just need to make a list o...

The Girl Loves Orange: Greetings from the Sunshine State!!
http://orangequeen1.blogspot.com/2014/10/greetings-from-sunshine-state.html
The Girl Loves Orange. Thursday, October 2, 2014. Greetings from the Sunshine State! It has been nearly three weeks since we arrived in Florida. Long two day drive. The dog did fine, thank goodness. It is funny, I have been away from our desktop for so long that getting back on seems like such a chore. I will have to try harder to get on more frequently as I cannot seem to load pictures from the iPad. Sowhat have we done? The first big project was an all day affair. Change out the sink in the kitchen...

The Girl Loves Orange: Little lightbulb moments
http://orangequeen1.blogspot.com/2015/01/little-lightbulb-moments.html
The Girl Loves Orange. Tuesday, January 20, 2015. We had company from New Hampshire last week. We were very busy with eating out and doing things and we haven't been that active socially for quite some time. So while it was hectic and a frenzied pace I realized that while we've chosen a completely different lifestyle for ourselves we can still have fun. However, it was a good time. We also went and hung out at Port Canaveral on Saturday. Seafood! We also tried restaurants right down the street from us th...

The Girl Loves Orange: August!!!
http://orangequeen1.blogspot.com/2015/08/august.html
The Girl Loves Orange. Saturday, August 8, 2015. Wellit has been quite some time since I have posted. A lot of things have happened. The hubby and I decided that we would put our lake home in New Hampshire on the market when we returned to NH for the summer. We made the decision that we really like living here in Florida and having another home up north made no sense. I have not unpacked my sewing machine yet. Honestly we have not even been back a full week yet and my husband is installing new patio ...
