African Penguins - Boulders Beach, Western Cape - South Africa - Jan 2015. Monday, 10 August 2015. Saturday, 8 August 2015. Back to a standard morning with little variety on offer other than the nine species of Warbler seen today. First thing it was obvious a small fall of Willow Warblers. Had dropped in, but as usual as soon as the sun broke through the mist, pretty much all the birds departed the headland. Very little moving overhead today. Lesser Whitethroat - 3. Reed Warbler - 10. Sedge Warbler - 2.

Matt Eade's Blog: January 2015

http://seafordbirding.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Shoebill - Uganda June 2016. Saturday, 31 January 2015. Makalali Game Reserve - Week 2. Yet another great week on the game reserve. Some incredible animal encounters this week, thankfully from the vehicle this time. Bird activity has also been good as the temperature has been lower due to local thunderstorms etc. Probably the highlight was flushing a Small Buttonquail. From the roadside one morning. I will add the very long mammal list after the trip next week when I visit the Western Cape with my brother.

Shoebill - Uganda June 2016. Wednesday, 31 December 2014. My Sussex Yearlist 2014. A list of all species (BOU only) seen in Sussex this year. Many thanks to everyone who let me know about any bird news this year. 238 is a new personal best for me after seeing 235 in 2009. The species highlighted indicate a scarce/rare bird and the added info is those species that I saw only one of or in one location. 1- Mute Swan - Many locations. 2- Bewick's Swan - Amberley Brooks. 3- Whooper Swan - Ivy Lake. A good day...

Shoebill - Uganda June 2016. Friday, 7 August 2015. As predicted, the first calm morning of the week produced a good number of birds as well as some decent stuff moving overhead. Although a juvenile Crossbill. Going over was noteworthy, the number of Reed Warblers. Was particularly good. It felt like every other bird was this species. Bob also saw a Pied Flycatcher. 1 juv for 10 minutes in Hope Gap. 1 adult flew west. Lesser Whitethroat - 9. Sedge Warbler - 2. Garden Warbler - 2. Swallow - ca. 75. Hottin...

The Feather Fanatic: June 2014

http://featherfanatic.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Tales of mischief, woe and intrigue. well, not really, pretty much about birds and wildlife to be honest! Friday, 6 June 2014. Farming and persecution - why is our countryside being held to ransom? Part One: Raptor Persecution. It torments me to think that our beautiful countryside and the wildlife that depends on it has been continually and systematically destroyed until it is clinging on for mere existence. and for what? Money pure and simple. It is an utter disgrace. Poisoned Red Kite ( Milvus milvus.

Friday, 3 July 2015. A Sussex Squacco . at last. I set out for work and realised as soon as I was halfway down our road that I had forgotten to put my small binoculars in my bag. Already a bit late it didn't seen worth going back for them, after all it was early July and even after this amazing spring it seemed a safe bet that I wouldn't need them. Well I got that wrong! Matt and Jake phoned to let me know (many thanks guys, very much appreciated as I might not have checked my pager for hours! One of 14 ...

Tales of mischief, woe and intrigue. well, not really, pretty much about birds and wildlife to be honest! Saturday, 8 September 2012. Long time no post - Norfolk (Part 1). Norfolk is one of those places that when you mention it in passing to a birder you generally get the response. "ahhhhhh, birder's paradise! Is mostly seen up in the north with the Shetlands enjoying the vast majority of records. Indeed, when I was up there in October 2009 we ended up seeing 7! Snow Bunting ( Plectrophenax nivalis.

Tales of mischief, woe and intrigue. well, not really, pretty much about birds and wildlife to be honest! Tuesday, 14 October 2014. Shetland 2014 - Day 1 - A White morning and a Yellow afternoon. The weather was beautiful in Aberdeen and the ferry journey was pretty relaxing too - not too choppy and I went up top to have a look for some seabirds as the ship headed north past the Aberdeenshire coast. On the way there were plenty of auk and Gannets offshore, some of the Gannets coming extremely close.

Friday, March 27, 2009. So sorry it's been awhile since our last post. We've all been busy with life, etc. Just to let you know, we've decided to put the study on hold for awhile. It's our goal to really have the heart of God on this matter. Both Josh and I find ourselves in different seasons of ministry that require our focus. We will still meet informally from time to time so check back for details. Thanks for your prayers. Wednesday, January 21, 2009. Next Meeting Jan. 31st. Sunday, January 4, 2009.
