So many things to do...: January 2011
http://contrarycolleen.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
So many things to do. Saturday, January 29, 2011. My maternity leave is winding down. I have two weeks left. How fast it has gone.and I took a relatively long leave of 4 and a half months (and by relatively long I mean by US standards, not by the standards of the clearly more enlightened European countries where maternity leave is a year). So what's a girl to do with such little time left? It's amazing how 2 hours of free time seems like so much now. Sunday, January 16, 2011. My latest completion is a qu...

So many things to do...: Welcome to Motherhood
http://contrarycolleen.blogspot.com/2010/11/welcome-to-motherhood.html
So many things to do. Monday, November 22, 2010. Well, at long last the little one has arrived. He's a month old now, and at the risk of sounding cliche, motherhood is infinitely more rewarding and. Challenging than I had ever expected. He's adorable.bright-eyed, cuddly, already smiling and extraordinarily gifted at exhausting me.as babies tend to be. I'm totally in love. I know it won't be long before he's squirming away when I try to hold him, but oh! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I like my garden.

So many things to do...: April 2009
http://contrarycolleen.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
So many things to do. Tuesday, April 21, 2009. I'm loving this weather, despite the fact that having no AC in the house makes me wilt a bit. It's given me spring/summer fever in a very big way. This morning as I walked from my car to the BART train, something in the breeze made me think of camping. I can't wait for camping! Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Spring Planting and Junk Beds. I have one wine barrel that is empty and I haven't quite decided what to put in it yet. The hops are starting nicely.at ...This ...

So many things to do...: September 2010
http://contrarycolleen.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
So many things to do. Sunday, September 12, 2010. I love finishing things. Such satisfaction. I'm the kind of gal that just loves checking items of the to-do list. Even small completions like using the very last of a shampoo bottle gives me a small sense of pleasure. What I'm not. Enjoying however, is finishing off my job at work. It's my favorite month. Well, maybe tied with June.but it's still up there. Autumn! I'm so very excited. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I'm an ordinary gal living in the SF bay ar...

Fiddle Faddle and Other Balderdash: Family Herritage
http://myspot2day.blogspot.com/2008/02/family-herritage.html
Fiddle Faddle and Other Balderdash. Family stories; a tiny sliver of American history one individual at a time. Saturday, February 13, 2010. My father is my inspiration because he could tell so many stories about growing up in Hackettstown, NJ. In his later years, we spoke one time about his leaving this plane of existence. I said, "Dad, you know what the best thing is you could leave us? This is his legacy; our family's little piece of American heritage. But the story doesn't end with my dad. My...Conni...

Fiddle Faddle and Other Balderdash: The Manhattan Project: Dad's tale
http://myspot2day.blogspot.com/2010/05/manhattan-project-dads-tale.html
Fiddle Faddle and Other Balderdash. Family stories; a tiny sliver of American history one individual at a time. Monday, May 31, 2010. The Manhattan Project: Dad's tale. This Memorial Day, I remember my dad. That's him kneeling on the far right. He entered the Army Air Force younger than he was supposed to. He lied about his age. As I mentioned in another post, he left home very young, hitch hiked around for awhile, then enlisted as a private, being discharged before the big crash on Wall Street. Im final...

So many things to do...: March 2009
http://contrarycolleen.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
So many things to do. Sunday, March 29, 2009. Bathroom Before (several before pics are available in previous posts):. I'm pleased how our little face lift came out. What we did:. Ripped out old shower doors and replaced with a vintage style l-shaped curtain rod. Repaired water damaged plaster. Sanded and painted all the woodwork and cabinet white. Repainted the walls to cover the institutional blue. Replaced the toilet with a new low flow model. Replaced the rotting mirror on the medicine cabinet. I love...
