Seasonal Ontario Food

Like a lot of people, I am trying to eat more local seasonal food. I post recipes here, in their season, which consist of at least 80% Ontario grown or produced food. Toña’s Garden | The Lazy Left-Wing Gardener

https://juliasgardenblog.wordpress.com/2016/04/11/tonas-garden

The Lazy Left-Wing Gardener. April 11, 2016. Way back in 2011 I had a chance to visit an ecovillage called Huehuecoyotl. Near Tepoztlán, Mexico. I stayed with Toña Osher. Who showed me her garden and generously taught me many things about food, sustainability, and politics. Toña lives high on the mountain surrounded by spectacular views. She uses discarded items and plant scraps to build terraces and increase her arable land. Nothing goes to waste. And the traditional practices of the campesinos. And cis...

It's not difficult - I was lucky enough to give away a good portion of them at Christmas, and since most of my family are condiment-philes like me they're certainly being enjoyed! Because we grow so. This particular batch really played to my personal tastes, blending fresh Summer tomatoes, four types of pepper ...

September 28, 2008. 100 Canadian Foods to Eat. Andrew at Very Good Taste. Peaked my interest with his list of VGT's Omnivore's Hundred. After responding to this list. I looked for more and found the Big List of "Things You Must Eat". I then knew that I must come up with a list that focused on the top 100 Canadian items to consume. Below is the list. The rules will be along the same lines as Andrew's list:. 1) Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions. 4) Post a comment here.
