Aimless Ramblings of an Aimless Rambler: 01/01/2009 - 02/01/2009

SATURDAY IN THE HILLS. BATFINK MEETS HIS NEMESIS. Or more accurately, The 2009 AMCN Island Classic. Each Australia Day long weekend sees the Classic being run at the Phillip Island GP track. A tri-nations cup held over the 3 days between England, Australia and New Zealand. I'm sure all that is important to the blokes involved. But not to me. I just get to hear and see some of the most cherished bikes come out to do what they were built for. Tents, lilo's, sleeping bags, clothes. Well, they tell me that.

MotoGP 09 - The Awesoming. MotoGP '09 - The Awesoming. I am putting this together piece by piece, much the same way my memory is returning to me. Bear with me, Dear Reader, for this may end up with the continuity of Pulp Fiction. Through the week leading up to D Day there had been signs of the impending event. VicRoads had replaced their usual Carnage On The Roads billboards with motorcycle related signage, including the rather spectacular "Motorcycle Gloves Can Save Your Fingers". And loaded up Motorhead.

Aimless Ramblings of an Aimless Rambler: CLIMBING OUT OF THE HOLE
http://leanitover.blogspot.com/2011/01/climbing-out-of-hole.html
CLIMBING OUT OF THE HOLE. CLIMBING OUT OF THE HOLE. Late April 2010, I think. That sounds about right. The crash was in early May and I haven't ridden since. Not that I haven't wanted to, it's just that the shoulder hasn't been up to it and I don't have a bike on the road now. It's been a bitch of a slog to tell the truth. A long clean ride through the hills has always been my way to clear the head of the stresses we all suffer. I'm sure you, dear reader, will understand. For the spectators anyway. He to...

3 States, 2 Days, 1 Bike. 3 States, 2 Days, 1 Bike. Forgive me, Fathers, it's been a while since my last ride. The main problem is not having a bike on the road. It can hold you back, you know? This was remedied by a very good mate leaving his FJR1300 down here while he went back to Queensland for a while. I promised to rotate his tyres regularly for him. So we end up with the June long weekend coming fast. I sat back on the Friday night and googled somewhere to head. Well, it would be later on any way.

Quoll Tracks: April 2011

Left of field thoughts from a left of field field. Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Dedicted to Tony Abbott and the mining industry. No explanation needed really, a classic of Australian poetry. SAID HANRAHAN by John O'Brien. We'll all be rooned," said Hanrahan,. In accents most forlorn,. Outside the church, ere Mass began,. One frosty Sunday morn. The congregation stood about,. Coat-collars to the ears,. And talked of stock, and crops, and drought,. As it had done for years. Bedad, it's cruke, me lad,. And ch...

Left of field thoughts from a left of field field. Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Coal Industry Promises to Con Communities. Let's face it, the coal industry rarely gets past the first syllable in their consultation process so let's call it for what it is. Following the recently released survey which pretty much said the community thinks coal mining sucks the industry is now promising to go out and consult more. Coal industry promises to consult with mining communities. Posted Tue May 24, 2011 6:40am AEST.

Left of field thoughts from a left of field field. Friday, January 11, 2013. The blame game of course, where "Greenies" get blamed for fires, floods, pestilence, etc etc all without offering any evidence it being enough just to yell out "Greenie". This is what the NCC has to say about fires:. The Australian landscape has evolved under a natural and cultural regime of fire. Bushfire continues to be a natural disturbance which is critical for the survival of many of our plants and animals. It is wh...The p...
