Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Well, hello there! It's been a bit quiet on the blogging end for me lately- this has been a hard winter here in Maine, and that, combined with a lot of projects in progress, has meant that my energy has had to go elsewhere. I'm planning a big, three month retrospective for the Stockinette Market, so don't worry! I'm still crunching numbers! But today, I wanted to check in about some big transitions that have been and will be going on in the background. Missing in the last few ye...

A guy's Northwest knitting (and sewing) journey. Rivers: In Which I Catch Up to Myself. November 24, 2014. November 24, 2014. Every beginning blogger goes through it: we get all excited about the prospect of blogging about something we love, post a lot at the beginning of our online lives, and then realize that… blogging is hard! Here’s the progress on my first-ever sweater, Jared Flood’s Cobblestone. Here’s my first-ever pair of socks, the Churchmouse Basics. Socks for J (I love these yarns! Of course, ...

A guy's Northwest knitting (and sewing) journey. On My Needles Today…. February 3, 2015. Knitting the long climb up the calf. If it wouldn’t increase the likelihood that I’d tip over in a stiff wind, I might consider foot-reduction surgery. Most days, I’m happy to be tall-ish on some sock-knitting days, not so much! Oh well, the really long part, the foot, is behind me. And second sock is also one-third up the leg, so I’m on the home stretch. Nothing fancy now, just rib, rib, rib. Enter your comment here.

A guy's Northwest knitting (and sewing) journey. Rivers: In Which I Lift My Head and Look Around. September 11, 2014. September 11, 2014. The last ten days have been crazy busy. One of those “when will this merry-go-round stop? I’m still behind on a number of things, so I’m just going to post a few things tonight and add more later. From a knitting perspective, there has been progress. I finished my cabled fingerless mitts! Has your autumn started with a bang, too? Mountains: Playing With the Hand Loom.

A guy's Northwest knitting (and sewing) journey. Rivers: Cruising Through a Late-Summer Weekend. August 17, 2015. I have a love-hate relationship with weekends. It’s great to know that my email inbox will fill at a slower rate, that I’ll get fewer client phone calls, that I’ll have a chance to catch up on all the work that didn’t get done during the “regular” work week (as if there’s such a thing, these days). Here’s some proof:. Time to start the button holes for the cardigan. (Note: I can see that ...

Seattle Knit Chick
Friday, May 16, 2008. To wordpress I think. At least that's the plan for now. Take a look over there - More to come soon. Today was a beautiful day in Seattle! The sun came out and it warmed up to about 80 degrees. I found myself smiling just from feeling the sun shine down on my face. I was able to drive through the arboretum and over the floating bridge with my sunroof open and it was just spectacular! As one of my office mates said - it was a day that makes us all want to live here! Today we stopped o...
