Sunday, November 30, 2014. Danny and I had our annual Christmas cookie baking day! We had a wonderful day of baking.but we are glad its only once a year! We made several dozens of cookies.I didn't keep track. We made peanut butter blossoms and Kris Kringles, (I think that's the name? Then we each have our own family recipe for Buckeyes. Saturday, January 10, 2015. Just giving an update on the mystery quilt. I have finished some of the blocks. There will be 25 of them in all.I have 12 done so far.I will need to get them done soon.I have them all laid out on the floor and Charlie (our Chihuahua) thinks its fun to roll on them and gets them all out of place! Thursday, April 23, 2015. My family got together last Saturday to remember Dad. Its been 14 years since he passed. We went to the cemetery and put some flowers at his grave. We then went to lunch at Finley's. It was a nice day spent together. Jim and I also went to see my Mom's new home. She has a very nice new home, new to her! I mentioned in a previous post that when you are working on a gift for someone you can't post about it and its very frustrating cause you want to share each milestone along the way! Friday, May 30, 2014. What was I thinking? So I saw this cute quilt in a new book I ordered for the guild library. It's always nice to have a project that travels. Something to work on when your at a quilt meeting or stuck visiting the in-laws! I thought, Oh I'd like to make that. It's an English Paper Piecing project, so I got online at paperpieces.com. Thursday, January 1, 2015. Grand Illusion part 4. Finally got part 4. I've been sick in bed with a cold so I am a bit behind on my mystery quilt. I got all my pieces cut and my half square triangles sewn.I overdid it on the yellow squares.as I was cutting I wasn't counting the fact that I had two layers of fabric so I cut double.oh well. Monday, December 1, 2014. Grand Illusion part 1. Well the mystery has begun! 280 half square triangles! I got a good start on them. I only had Sunday to work on them, we were busy on Friday and Saturday. But I have the rest of the week to work in the evenings. I think I got about 182 of them done. I wanted to be sure to get some of the blocks completed too. I finished 73 of these! Plus raked leaves in the backyard! Yes I'm tired and sore. I need to take some ibuprofen and rub on some liniment.

Monday, June 30, 2014. Remember that tiny paper piecing project I mentioned. Well I got it started. I had a quilt guild board meeting last week and I was able to get 25 of these done. Just seven more meeting like that and I'll have the hexagons all done! They do baste up pretty quick and they are just so stinkin' cute. Finally everything has been fixed, keeping my fingers crossed! Saturday, April 18, 2015. I made this and we are presenting it today to my mom as a housewarming gift. She bought a new home in Battle Creek, Mi. Jim and I are going there for our grand tour, more on that later. This is the finished punchneedle front. This is another wonderful design from Shawn Williams of Threads that bind. This is the back of the design. As you may know you work from the back punching your threaded needle from the back. I bought two of these designs so I could have one in my house too!

Saturday, October 4, 2014. Quilts on the Grand 2014. I entered two quilts in this years Quilts on the Grand quilt show. I was very happy to get first place with my In my Garden. Quilt Terri Watson did the fabulous quilting. I was told that the judges held my quilt with two other quilts to the very end to choose the Best of Show award.
