Alumni (listed most recent first). Contact – general enquiries. What is a Carbon Landscape? A carbon landscape is not a new type of landscape, but a new way of seeing our surroundings. Glacial landscapes and volcanic landscapes conjure easily exciting images of beautiful, dynamic and often brooding, majestic landscapes. They need no further description. But have you paused to think what other landscapes we find on Earth? How is C is gained, lost or stored in a landscape? Why think about it now? As a rese...

Alumni (listed most recent first). Contact – general enquiries. What is the Microclimates project about? The microclimates project is about understanding the effects of local changes in climate, on land-based renewables and host landscapes. A microclimate is a change in climate at a localised scale. We want to find out how these affect land-based renewable energy schemes. We also want to find out how environments hosting land-based renewables respond to microclimate change. Why is the research important?
