Finding Blessings on Country Roads. By Tara Huffman Jul 19, 2016. Debra Dawson agrees that driving her Meals-on-Wheels route is a type of ministry. But she says it’s not clear who is ministering to whom. According to Debra, she receives more than she gives when she makes her deliveries. “I bring our clients a meal and human touch, but I get so much more out of it.”. Caring for the clients on her route is an ongoing tribute to her parents. “Some of our clients don’t have family, and Meals-...A bipartisan ...

A meal and a smile can make all the difference! Dedicated and caring volunteers deliver hot meals Monday through Friday around the noon hour. Breakfast is delivered Tuesday through Thursday, along with the hot meal. Weekend meals are delivered on Fridays, along with the regular meals. Volunteers give clients a break from the isolation of a very lonely existence. Many times the daily visit from the volunteer is their only contact with the outside world. Blog for Ellis County Texas History. Sunday, December 23, 2012. Johnson County Takes A Slice of Ellis County. And why did Ellis County put up with it? And then adjoining markers were set in the 19 mile line. They were five foot concrete posts set three feet deep in the ground. Bois d' arc post were placed in the ground every mile. County officials had to figure out back taxes to areas that had been paying the wrong county. What a mess! 1850 federal census map- - - - - - - - - - - -. Hardy-Heck-Moore Cult...

Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.". Tuesday, January 27, 2009. NOwe have not fallen off the face of the earth! I am so sorry for the LONG delay in posting anything here. We are all good, and Caroline is growing and developing into quite a little girl. It makes me so sad that she is no longer my baby. Although, she still reminds me that she is "Mommy's Baby," so I will take it! Thanks for being patient! And, then FOUR!

Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.". Tuesday, May 26, 2009. I have been so terrible. About keeping up with our blog lately. My apologies! This, along with all my other 2009 resolutions, as I am still trying to get them off the ground. Things are great in the Jackson world, and we have been busy with work, school, and play. And Avery did better than ever skiing. Here is Josh recovering from a treeline fall on a Black.

Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.". Monday, November 17, 2008. The last several weeks have been full of excitement as we have been enjoying fall, even if has not felt very "fallish." We visited a local pumpkin patch for some super cute pictures of Caroline. And, early in the month, we traveled to Lafayette for Josh's cousin's wedding. Must be her daddy, right? Fall is also never complete with FOOTBALL! And, this year...

Greater Tuna, the comical, affectionately satirical look at small-town southern life, will open a limited engagement at Aurora Community Theater. Shows will start at 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, Feb. 27 through March 7. Two longtime ACT favorites, Kevin Horak of Aurora and Brian Diehl of Hudson, will perform all 20 characters in this over-the-top caricature of one hilarious day in Tuna, the fictional, third smallest town in Texas. I realized this was even more challenging, Horak said. The broad jokes a...

Friday, May 15, 2009. Should Texas state offer a tuition cap for higher education? I am in total agreeance with my classmate. Texas Legislators have introduced bills that would put a cap on tuition increase. We already pay enough, for just one class alone. Why do we need to pay more? Not everybody comes from a privelaged family and can afford anything higher than what we are paying now. This is a great bill and I am in favor of this being passed. Monday, May 4, 2009.
