MacOS X on Unsupported (Legacy) Macs. I have some old PowerPC Macs; the kind that predates the first G3 from Apple. In fact, these old Macs come from a company that was bought out and shut down by Apple. Give up? They're Power Computing clones. I have a PowerCenter Pro 240, PowerCenter 120, and PowerCurve 601 120. There's some good pages and books out there with wiring information, but here's a few good ones I've found useful. Http:/ www.derose.net/steve/guides/wiring/. Unsupported System Software on the PowerBook 500 Series. Normally, the MacOS 8.6, 8.5, and 9.0 installers refuses to run on the PowerBook 500 series, even with a PPC upgrade card. Luckily, you can use a small gestalt trick to get the installer to run. Here, I'm only going to cover the PowerBook 500 series, since that's what I have. Try and get as much RAM as possible when running these newer versions of the MacOS. Modules for the 500 series are still sold at places such as Ramjet. Other Sites of Interest.

Cisco IOS IP Masquerade (NAT Overload). Running network address translation (NAT) on a Cisco router is actually quite simple; this page only covers the "overload" method. Doing this requires a few things:. A Cisco rouer with IOS that supports NAT ( IOS Reference. Basic knowledge of how to use a Cisco router with the command line. A functional network (duh).
