Seven Days on a Bike

Tuesday, September 15, 2009. This is a travelogue of sorts about the trip Ben and I took to Ireland in September 2009. We don't think people will read the whole thing, but we thought we should put in some explanation of what we did and what pictures we took. Think of it like an old-timey slideshow - but instead of listening to us drone on about the boring parts, you can skip ahead to something more interesting. You have to read it backwards to read it in order, sorry! Sunday, September 13, 2009. Nearby w...

Seven Days on a Bike: 09/12/09

http://sevendaysonabike.blogspot.com/2009_09_12_archive.html

Saturday, September 12, 2009. For dinner, we knew we wanted to eat at King Sitric. Mostly because we saw it on Anthony Bourdain. That meant a trip out to Howth. Lonely Planet describes Howth as a place that used to be it's own village but now is really a suburb. Well, if this is what an Irish suburb is like, it doesn't seem all that bad. Day 12: Cathedral and Castle. The same was true for Christ Church Cathedral, which was apparently so memorable that we forgot to take a picture of it. But this morning, ...

Sunday, September 13, 2009. Day 13: Last Night in Ireland. Tomorrow we go back to regular life. We are starting to miss the dog and cat, and I guess we go need to keep our jobs and say hi to friends and stuff. But really, we wish we could stay here forever. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Seven Days on a Bike: 09/05/09

Saturday, September 5, 2009. We rode back into town for dinner, ending up at the Aran Islands Hotel. Ben had lamb and I had a bony piece of pollack. The waiter forgot our Guinesses, so he comped them on the bill. Day 5: Seven Churches. When we finished with Dun Aegnus, it was still too early for dinner, so we decided to see another place Wilma had marked on our map: the seven churches. We weren't exactly clear on what they were, but they sounded cool. Here's why we missed them:. 1 Every single building o...

Thursday, September 10, 2009. Thoughts About Cycling as a Vacation. Now that our bike riding days are over, here are a few thoughts Ben and I had about the whole experience, and what we would do differently next time. I wish we would have had a little more time, though. We could have probably spent a day hiking in the Connemara National Park. We also have seen lots of signs for "walks," like "The Western Way". Iron Donkey and Wilma:. We brought two waterproof stuff sacks (one each) and two backpacks to u...

Seven Days on a Bike: 09/04/09

Friday, September 4, 2009. Dinner was fish and chips at a rather indifferent pub (I had a hair in my Guinness, ick). It was our first experience with "minted mushy peas." They are exactly what they sound like: mashed peas mixed with mint. They tasted good, until the inevitable taste of mint came through - why are these two tastes supposed to go together? Is is because they are both green? Later, more Guinness at this pub:. Again, I have no idea how to pronounce it. If we can find the end of this rainbow,...

Seven Days of Sound | Musical ravings. Enjoy.

Seven Days of Sound. Song of the Week. March 24, 2011 · 8:40 pm. It’s a New Jen-eration. That’s right guys, Jenny from The Block is back and it just so happens her new releases coincide with her being a judge on American Idol. Personally, I don’t think those things are related. It’s doing good things on the other side of the pond and we’ll be getting in the next few weeks. Its a really good feelgood song. The album, Love? Anyway, I’ll finish as I always do, with my favourite J-Lo song. ENJOY. Anyway, I t...

Seven Days of Sunday

Friday, February 28, 2014. Bible Lessons from Dr. Suess. Dr Seuss's birthday is coming up on March 2nd. To celebrate, I thought I would share some ways we use Dr. Seuss to teach the Bible. Dr. Seuss books weren't written with the purpose of Bible teaching, but biblical truth can be found everywhere. In fact, the main challenge of this blog is to look for ways to teach our children about God in the ordinary things of life. Mr Brown Can Moo! Oh, the Thinks You Can Think! Or J is for Jesus. Just to bring th...

Sevendaysoftheweek

Tuesday, 3 November 2009. I try to turn this object round and round,. To understand why it means so much to me when I'm down,. Whether it was yesterday,. It caught the light of the sun once upon a time. I find it unusually hard to hold on to it,. And maybe even more so tommorow,. Because it reminds me of yesterday. It's a precious memory. Of the time where the moment was kind,. Up to then I was blind,. Until I witnessed a beautiful mind,. Where the camera meets wine drinking cigar smoking crazy people.

Seven Day Sons

War of our love 9.9.16. We are SEVEN DAY SONS. It’s amazing what you can accomplish in just six months if you are focused, diligent and energetic. Over that extraordinarily abbreviated span of time, four musicians came together, formed a band, crafted more than three dozen songs, and then recorded a powerful and evocative five-song EP. It was like a dream come true. I grew up listening to bands like Billy Talent and Big Wreck, so to get a chance to record at Vespa, where those guys also recorded was ...
