Thirsty?: Drenched
http://bundymum.blogspot.com/2009/01/drenched.html
Saturday, January 24, 2009. Today I let my kids play in the rain, in fact, I suggested it! I heard of the term used by CS Lewis this week - "drenched with joy". I wasn't exactly sure what he meant by it, but it kept coming to mind, so I did a little bit of digging through the Bible. Wanna see what I found? Luke 10:21 says that Jesus was. In His presence, we are filled with joy. Because God is with us, this joy in us need not be shaken. Because we believe He has a purpose in everything, we can be ...To sa...

Thirsty?: Expired
http://bundymum.blogspot.com/2008/07/expired.html
Tuesday, July 1, 2008. My Dad believes in keeping things beyond their ‘use by’ date if he feels they still have some use or effectiveness. When staying with him last week I was looking for some mentholated chest rub and grabbed a small jar from the bathroom cupboard. It was quickly returned however, when I read that the contents had reached their ‘use by’ date in 1996 – that’s 12 years ago! Paul sought to encourage Timothy with these words:. 8221; (1 Tim 4:12). Read through 1 Timothy Chapter 4, remember ...

Saturday, June 30, 2012. Who's Side Are You On? With the State of Origin games and school athletics carnivals there has been a lot of talk about sporting teams and people everywhere are becoming passionate about their team. They talk about it, wear clothes representing it, have signs on their cars, paint their faces and sing crazy songs. Most people are very proud of the colours they wear and cheer on their team and defend them at any opportunity. Being a follower of Jesus is not about preferences. Y...

Thirsty?: Star Gazing
http://bundymum.blogspot.com/2013/01/star-gazing.html
Sunday, January 6, 2013. My husband loves to stargaze and over Christmas he enjoyed showing the family his new monocular (a cross between a telescope and binoculars) and the different planets and constellations that could be found. It was especially exciting that Jupiter was close (relatively speaking ;), and visible early in the evening. And he showed me that the longer I looked at Jupiter, the more I would be able to see of its colours and surrounding moons. It was amazing. If you haven’t really ...

Thirsty?: February 2013
http://bundymum.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 13, 2013. My skin is peeling from the sunburn. Oh, I saw a snake do that once. There is a difference between shedding skin due to sunburn and shedding skin like a snake! But to my son, it seemed quite similar. We know that one is due to harm and the other is due to growth. One is local and painful and the other is whole and natural. James 4:7-8 says "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you.". And He te...

Monday, December 24, 2012. From Plasterer to Prime Minister (Re-post). It was Christmas Eve 2007, and I had just finished showing Santa to his milk and apple Hannah left out for him, oh, not to mention the carrots, oats and water for the reindeer. But before I hit the sack myself (haha, like that pun? I have a little something to share. Timethe conversation went something like this. Insurance lady: so why are you moving to Bundaberg? Me: my husband is going to be a pastor at a church there. Speaking like...

Thirsty?: What a Day!
http://bundymum.blogspot.com/2008/10/what-day.html
Thursday, October 23, 2008. There must be something in the air. Have you noticed lots of people having bad days lately? I've had a corker of a week, and an extra story to top it off for you today. Actually, I probably wouldn't even have burdened you with my week except that this particular event is so randomly bad, its funny. Today about her day and enjoyed her perspective about how we would go about our life (including our crazy weeks) if we had just one month to live. I did feel sorry for the bird, but...
