Jackie's Sewing

My sewing and fabric happenings. Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Saturday, November 24, 2012. I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving holiday. Again I have not kept up in updating my blog. Just doing a lot of other things and having to figure out a few technical issues on my part. There's not a lot to say about this except I will probably sew it again. This project did help me kick start my sewing because I had not sewn much at all since the quick and easy things I made for vacation back in July. Al...Anoth...

My sewing and fabric happenings. Saturday, November 24, 2012. I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving holiday. Again I have not kept up in updating my blog. Just doing a lot of other things and having to figure out a few technical issues on my part. I have been sewing a little and finally showing this outfit. It was a very easy project. I've worn it twice and I have to say it's very comfortable. I used a moleskin from Joann's that's been in my fabric collection for quite awhile. Back On The Blog!

My sewing and fabric happenings. Monday, May 14, 2012. Happy Belated Mother's Day! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. This is my mother's day dress. I always like to have something new to wear and I finished this up late Saturday night. Here are the details of the dress:. Loose-fitting dress has raglan sleeves and midriff. 3 piece sleeves and front pockets. Purchase trim applied to middle sleeve and midriff. I like the style and fit. I might make it again but in one of the other views. Also to venture o...

The Month (or Two) of Pants: Finished on January 30th

http://themonthofpants.blogspot.com/2010/02/finished-on-january-30th.html

The Month (or Two) of Pants. Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Finished on January 30th. As I mentioned before, I had committed to making three more pairs of pants in January for the Pants Challenge. Well, I only got one pair finished, that's sewing life for you. I finished the wool blend tweed pair last night after a little tweaking, serging. February 2, 2010 at 11:34 AM. Great fit and awesome fabric. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Finished on January 30th.

The Month (or Two) of Pants: Burda 1/2006-108

http://themonthofpants.blogspot.com/2010/01/burda-12006-108.html

The Month (or Two) of Pants. Sunday, January 31, 2010. Today is the last day of the month and I finished the wearable muslin I intended to. No seam was serged to make it quicker. I used half of a duvet cover to make the pants. It is obvious I should have made the flat bottom alteration. Now I know I need to do that right away. Should I add the back pockets? I like the pattern and think I'm going to wear these pants a lot when it gets warmer. I am so glad I took this challenge! January 31, 2010 at 8:53 AM.

The Month (or Two) of Pants: S2860: Version 1

http://themonthofpants.blogspot.com/2010/01/s2860-version-1.html

The Month (or Two) of Pants. Sunday, January 24, 2010. I finished the first pair of Simplicity 2860. My thoughts? Meh I cut and sewed a straight 16 curvy. The legs were way too full and I had a lot of bunching at the front crotch. In the end, I ended up removing the fullness by taking larger seam allowances on both the in and out seams. Here is the result:. January 24, 2010 at 10:25 AM. January 24, 2010 at 11:35 AM. Very close. Use muslin for the next try so that the pattern flaws are move obvious.

The Month (or Two) of Pants: December 2009

http://themonthofpants.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

The Month (or Two) of Pants. Thursday, December 31, 2009. I finally have pictures of both the muslin and garment (near completion). There are some wrinkles in the front of the garment that I didn't see in the muslin. Any ideas? Sorry for the photo quality. I have a love-hate relationship with Photoshop.). My first pair of pant for the MOP sew along.I used Kwiksew 3625. Please check my blog. Here are some pictures. If you look at the thigh very well , you can see what am talking about.Frustrating. http://gold-liveandlearn.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Me and my sewing. My pattern and fabric stash! There's more behind that! Like most sewers I have a fabric stash and a pattern stash. After reading Ms.Adrienne. Blog asking questions about sewing. I started to think maybe my fabric stash is not to much or my pattern stash.Last summer I put myself on a pattern diet and this summer I am going to do it again. But I don't think I will ever ever ever go on a fabric diet that would be too much for me! All of it was a 1.50$ a yard! Yeah ...

The Month (or Two) of Pants: Better late than never?

http://themonthofpants.blogspot.com/2010/03/better-late-than-never.html

The Month (or Two) of Pants. Sunday, March 28, 2010. Better late than never? I finally finished the pants that I wanted to make in December. I thought that joining this sewing group would give me a good push to actually make the pants but I spent most of the two months of pants making muslins! These are Burda Magazine's 07-2009-102. The left pair and center pair are gray stretch wool, and the right pair is black stretch wool that looks and behaves like a doubleknit. March 28, 2010 at 4:27 PM.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? OkA shoulder princess seam blouse with flounces! Would you sew it again?

Sunday, February 22, 2015. My sister asked me recently to whip up a quilt for a friend who was expecting her second baby, a girl. I had an idea in my head for a while and decided to give it a whirl. The idea started with my love for Michael Miller's Children at Play On Parade fabric. I just love the scene with the kids, animals and balloons! Sunday, February 15, 2015. It has been a while! Wow, the last few months have been a blur. Between the holidays and a busy day job, I have had my hands full! This we...
