Bursting Buds by Pam Bono. Maritime Beauty and what a beauty it is. View my complete profile. Tuesday, January 11, 2011. Bursting Buds by Pam Bono. And even with a design wall, it's an inexact science to buy coordinating fabrics on line. Most of the time I have good results but every now and then, things just don't come together as you might hope. That's the sacrifice you make when you choose good prices over hands-on buying. All things considered though, it's still the best place on line to buy Batiks.

Bronze Wombat: April 2015
http://bronzewombat.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 26, 2015. Where has this week gone? I swear, it was only Monday when I last looked. Stuff has been happening in the sewing room! This week has been busy, I was out almost every night to rehearse for Friday night's musical extravaganza tribute to Anzac Day, which was yesterday. The show ended with massed choirs singing from the balcony of our lovely old War Memorial Town Hall. Here are some of the wildlife we met on our holiday, first some ducks by the Murrumbidgee River. This quite amazing ...

KrissteezKreationz: Around the World Blog Tour
http://krissteezkreationz.blogspot.com/2014/12/around-world-blog-tour.html
Monday, December 1, 2014. Around the World Blog Tour. Hello from the north shore of Nova Scotia, Canada. I was invited to take part in the "Around the World Blog Hop" by Lorette Cole at Spruce it up Quilting. There are some wonderful blogs out there. This is a great way to view blogs from all over the world to see what people are creating. I have been asked four questions. What am I currently working on? This table topper was made a few years ago at a workshop by Karen Neary. Why do I create? That is a h...

KrissteezKreationz: June 2014
http://krissteezkreationz.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 7, 2014. Snowbuds by McKenna Ryan are adorable. I am doing them using raw edged appliqué. Batiks are the perfect fabric for raw edged appliqué because the thread count in them is so high, which means they won't fray like other cottons might. This block is waiting for the embellishments to go on. My first block is actually block # 7. I chose to jump ahead and do this one. Snowbud block # 7. Snowbud block # 1. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). One yard of fabric, like one cookie, is never enough!

KrissteezKreationz: Comfort Table Runner
http://krissteezkreationz.blogspot.com/2014/04/comfort-table-runner.html
Sunday, April 13, 2014. This table runner was made using some of the fabrics from the Piecemaker fabric collection by Moda. The Comfort Runner Pattern is by Coach House Designs. The runner is pieced and then appliquéd. The finished runner may be seen at Mrs P's Quilt Shop. In Amherst. The fabric collection and the pattern are available there as well. This runner has to be quilted yet. It shows a more primitive look using the darker colours. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Photos and Fabric and the Far North: March 2012
http://photosandfabric.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Photos and Fabric and the Far North. Saturday, 31 March 2012. A ROCKY April First. It is no joke, these are rocks, but they are beautiful. The high water in our river has receded and our beach is above water. Every spring brings a new crop of rocks, some for skipping and some some for just looking at. These are just some of the rocks on our beach. I love the colours and the textures and the stripes. Wednesday, 28 March 2012. Sunday, 25 March 2012. Pine cones and Pussywillows. This pine was planted along ...

http://photosandfabric.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Photos and Fabric and the Far North. Friday, 8 November 2013. My pictures for this post are from last night. This is Madeline, she does amazing work. She is really old and speaks very little English. I think she is about 90. All her kids, including one of the teachers I work with, were sent away to residential school. She is working on the gauntlet for some mitts. She sell her mitts for 400 dollars. She made herself a long necklace before the evening was over. This is a first attempt for one of the young...

Quilter's Connection Blog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. About Quilter’s Connection Magazine. September 24, 2010. Thought I’d share a recipe my aunt made for dinner the other night. My uncle used to grow and harvest wild rice. Wild rice is not like the white rice we make – it’s actually a grain, not a rice. And it has a wonderfully nutty flavour. I’ve been eating wild rice all my life, but this is one of my favourite recipes so far. North Country Wild Rice and Broccoli Casserole. Leave one →. You ar...
