It seems like everyone in my social circles had a year of rather extreme ups and downs. I can’t say that I’m sad to see it go, and I hope that 2016 is full of better things for us all! Had a lot to do with that this year. I’ve had a difficult time trying to balance work with leisure, and that’s definitely something I will work on in the coming year! Posted in 2015 Yardage tally.

Posted in 2015 Yardage tally. 6,653yds or 3.78 miles. That confession out of the way, let’s discuss my knitting instead. All of November’s yardage came from knitting glorious handspun for “Handspun/Handknit Giftmas.” I didn’t do too poorly, if I may say so! I’m hoping to get some knitting done while on vacation. I’m currently planning out what is realistic to take back with me. My life would be so much easier if I could knit in the car, but, alas! I get severe motion sickness. Posted in 2015 Yardage tally.

About Me | Star Shaped

Knitting and spinning and fun! Hi there, I’m Aubrey. I’m in my mid-30s and live in western Massachusetts. I spend a lot of my time making things, whether it be with sticks and string, with fiber and a spinning wheel, or pen on paper. I can’t remember a time where I wasn’t doing. I write mostly about my knitting and spinning adventures, with a little bit of awesomeness added for extra measure. Random things about me. I’m left handed and knit from right to left. I didn’t travel outside of New England...

Knitting and spinning and fun! Posted on May 31st, 2016 · 18 Comments. Do people still read blogs, or more precisely, do people still read blogs like mine? Honestly, I need to get over myself. Knitting and spinning and fun! Sock it to summer! Posted on June 8th, 2016 · 7 Comments. Tagged: knit all the socks. Sock it to summer. Happy (almost) summer, friends! I kind of like to think that summer started on June 1, but really, it doesn’t start until the summer solstice on the 2oth. It’s been warm and sunny, though, so to me, summer’s well on its way. With summer comes a fun knit-a-long – Amanda of Knot a Podcast. And Lamby Toes Yarn. Oh, you want to know what socks I’m knitting so far? The patter...

Yeah, I know I missed my dress-per-week thing. I haven't finished it - I underestimated the amount of time it would take, and so here we are. I'm going to try to do a July 4th outfit with it, so hopefully you'll see it then. Anyway, I felt kinda lousy that I didn't get it done, so in the meantime, here is the very easy tutorial for this shirt I made, which uses just a long skirt or dress:. I am also happy to announce that these instructions can be modified in many ways, including to make this top:. If yo...

Thursday, June 27, 2013. I, like many people am a pinterest enthusiast, and found many Pictures of different ways to hold earrings. Back to knitting, phase II. I can’t believe I was ever good at this, if only for a short time. Have had trouble casting on recently, as well as accidentally increasing my stitches. And I don’t have the right needles for what I’m doing (at least I don’t see any around), so am using a cable with screw on tips, which is a little scary. Back to knitting…. sort of. K-thunk, k-thunk, k-thunk went the sewing machine. I hate people touching my stuff, in addition to the money. At some point during the stuck-fabri...
