Making a Spiffy Tunic Neckline | Aranwen's Adventures
http://aranwen-ridhelic.blogspot.com/2014/07/making-spiffy-tunic-neckline.html
Making a Spiffy Tunic Neckline. Posted by Mermaiden in ALL. So, you'd like to add a spiffy neckline to your tunic without using bias tape. OK, Let's Go! First you need to cut out a piece of fabric larger than the size of the neck hole opening in the tunic. It can help to put some pins down to hold the neck hole open. You can use dressmaker's chalk to help you mark the opening, then cut a few extra inches beyond that. See bottom for my alternate paper method. You are left with the perfect sized neck insert.

Making Salves and Balms. Posted by Mermaiden in ALL. I decided to put my class information into a digital guide by posting it to my blog. My class first began with how to make lip balms, so we will start there. PS, check out other neat tutorials in the blog hop :). The balm we’re going to create here is a simple and effective base recipe and we’ll turn this one into a lip balm. Since beeswax isn’t exactly tasty, we can add an essential oil for flavoring. It also smells nicer, too. Included lavender, rose...

My Notes from C&I Intro Class. Posted by Mermaiden in A and S. This is of course not a full class handout or anything. Just my notes I wrote down during class, so I can remember these things! Thank you Lady Charmayne! Use a standard size. Folks are going to want to put these in a frame, so make it easy on them. 85 x 11, 9 x 12, 11 x 17. Hot press paper is smooth. Good surface. Cold press paper is bumpy. Bad surface. You can also mix your own paints from powdered pigments, if you can find them! Use small ...

Making a Fighter's Tunic | Aranwen's Adventures
http://aranwen-ridhelic.blogspot.com/2012/03/making-fighters-tunic.html
Making a Fighter's Tunic. Posted by Mermaiden in ALL. 1 Measure the fighter. IN armor. Measure all the critical points first to know how big to cut your fabric for sewing. The neck should go over the unarmored head and neck so it doesn't have to be armored for measuring. 2 Measure the circumference of the arm at its width at the widest point with armor on, as the sleeves MUST fit over all armor at the absolute widest point. Remember to add seam allowance to both ends when cutting. It's all in the fold.

Posted by Mermaiden in ALL. Oh, how wonderful! Look at this link I just came across. It has the history of Wales in a summarized version right through the run of years I'm looking at. I've already scoured Wikipedia, but this runs through a nice brief timeline all on one page. Http:/ www.britannia.com/celtic/wales/timeline/tl03.html. The first Eisteddfod was held in 1176. Was she perhaps a youth at this time? Or maybe she was born in that year. I was born in 1976 so I fancy this '76 year a bit.
