Sewn With Curves

Saturday, July 25, 2015. It's been a long time since I posted on this blog. The summer has already gotten away from me due to work obligations. I feel like I've missed out on so much including time to sew because it's been so busy. I need to work on that work/play balance to make time for things that give me pleasure like sewing. A little bit of everything going in my AMB quilt. She used her precious Tula Pink fabrics because she knows I love them, too. Quilty friends are fantastic! I didn't like having ...

Sewn With Curves: March 2015

http://www.sewnwithcurves.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 26, 2015. Down But NOT Out! Where have I been? That question has been asked a lot lately because I took a big step back from a lot of things: quilting, technology, my friends and family. I am a pretty private person and over the years the friends I've chosen to keep close know how important that is to me. I do want to share something that is not often discussed: my battle with depression. 16 different shot cottons and. 1 landscape fabric I think looked like. Thank you for reading this!

I love participating in the Blogger's Quilt Festival and seeing all of the creativity. This is my third time entering a quilt in the show and this Spring, I decided to share one of my favorite quilts created in the winter. I Love My Hair". Sewn With Curves: April 2015

http://www.sewnwithcurves.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 22, 2015. It's spring time in Florida and we went from warm to cool to hot in less than a week. I don't know that I am ready for 90 degree weather any time soon. On the plus side, I did find insulated curtains for my craft room that keeps it really cool during the day. That makes idea of the upcoming summer heat more tolerable. I think my resolution for next year will be to finish a project to completion before starting a new one. (Giving up new fabric purchases for a year is so hard!

http://www.sewnwithcurves.blogspot.com/2015/01/keeping-it-real-my-sewing-space.html

Monday, January 19, 2015. Keeping It Real: My Sewing Space. I do have to say that I am pretty lucky to have a room of my own to create and play. I house lots of fabrics, art supplies and other creative toys. I am constantly changing things around to suit my needs. Here's a clockwise view:. A portion of my fabric stash and books. More fabric, art supplies and other toys. My craft table: where the magic happens. My design wall. So happy to have one! Sewing machine, Accuquilt and. Tuxedo print boxed bag.

Https:/ m.youtube.com/watch? Now on to this month's block! It's called Rolling Tide and it's by Alyssa Lichner of Pile o' Fabric. Orlando Modern Quilt Guild: Quilty Podcasts

http://theorlandomodernquiltguild.blogspot.com/2015/07/quilty-podcasts.html

Wednesday, July 29, 2015. With summer here many of us are taking trips, either on the road or in the air, which means time away from our sewing machines. Many times my daughter has her headphones in listening to her music and my husband will have his music blaring on the car radio - this is usually my signal to put my OWN headphones in since my taste in music is not theirs! To get my quilting fix, I will tune in to a quilty themed podcast. Here are a few of my favorites:. While She Naps/Abby Glassenberg.

Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Block of the Month - Circle of Friends Block. What is a quilt guild? Well it is a big circle of friends. Am I right? Well this month's quilt block is called Circle of Friends. It seems very fitting, doesn't it? I found the tutorial on the Emerald Coast Modern Quilt Guild. S website. They had it for their block of the month as well. I guess great minds think alike. :-) You can find the tutorial here. Have fun sewing your own circle of friends! February 5, 2015 at 9:23 AM.

Orlando Modern Quilt Guild: May Block of the Month

http://theorlandomodernquiltguild.blogspot.com/2015/04/may-block-of-month.html

Wednesday, April 1, 2015. May Block of the Month. In May we'll be back to using our scrap basket, using bright colors and white or cream backgrounds. It is a very simple block with no points to match and very little to measure:. You can also do rows with just one color like the pink row below:. When you assemble the blocks into a quilt top, they form cute wonky columns. The instructions are here. April 23, 2015 at 7:41 AM. I can do this! Even if Im short on time! Keep the conversation going!

Orlando Modern Quilt Guild: January Block of the Month

http://theorlandomodernquiltguild.blogspot.com/2014/12/january-block-of-month.html

Wednesday, December 3, 2014. January Block of the Month. For January, we'll do a very simple block in "winterish" colors: grays and blues with white background. Light tones seem nicest, but of course any shade will do. The block is a double chevron design:. Here is what multiple blocks look like:. It makes a 12 1/2 inch block. The instructions are here. And it's so easy you may want to do more than one. December 10, 2014 at 11:17 AM. Thanks for the fun block! I cant wait to these in January! Welcome to t...

Orlando Modern Quilt Guild: August BOM

http://theorlandomodernquiltguild.blogspot.com/2015/07/august-bom.html

Thursday, July 2, 2015. Well, it is my turn. I made this block a couple of years ago, and I admit to getting confused about which piece was the Geese, and which was the background. (I may have ripped out a few pieces because of putting the geese fabric in the background place or vice versa). Christina Lane has a very good tutorial for paper piecing this block here. If you know how to paper piece and don't need the tutorial, just print the template here. When your unit is made, Leave the paper on the back.

Orlando Modern Quilt Guild: April Block of the Month

http://theorlandomodernquiltguild.blogspot.com/2015/03/april-block-of-month.html

Wednesday, March 4, 2015. April Block of the Month. Let's all make Friendship Star blocks for April's block lotto. The tutorial I followed can be found here. Your block should measure 12.5" with seam allowances to finish at 12". I went scrappy and used cream and low volume prints for the background squares and chose blues for the star. Follow the color palette as a guide for selecting blue fabrics for the star and any white/cream/neutral fabric will do for the background. March 8, 2015 at 1:08 PM.

Allison Sews: C+S mini quilt swap

http://allison-sews.blogspot.com/2015/08/cs-mini-quilt-swap.html

Tutorials and Free Patterns. Monday, August 3, 2015. C S mini quilt swap. I've been trying to sign up for less swaps as I'm always procrastinating to get them done but some are useless to resist against. This was one of them and with four months before it had to be sent, surely I would get it done with plenty of time to spare. Right? Not so much. But I did have a plan and knew what to make for at least 2 months if that counts for anything. Viewfinder fabric for the binding. Free pattern). All in all,...

Quilt Draw. Embroider. Paint. And sew on…. 11 For Jacob →. September 7, 2016. The other day I woke up and realized that I can’t be a tattooed, quilter and crafty lady in her late 20s and not have a blog. I mean really, have you seen my bangs? I’m pretty sure not blogging with these bangs is completely against the natural order of things. So here we go! And took the choosing of the block way too seriously (again! But this time I came up empty handed. So I made my own. So let’s dive in! Mark the backs of a...

Sewn With Grace

Thursday, August 6, 2015. Today I sent off my first black and white baby quilt. I loved working on it because one, it is for a very special couple who is expecting their first child soon and two, because the colors and fabrics are so different from my usual quilting projects. I used a lot of low volume fabrics which was very fun! It was really a joy to make! Jane sent along some other fun goodies including the darling pouch. I can't wait to go! Have a wonderful day!
