Orlando Modern Quilt Guild: Quilty Podcasts
http://theorlandomodernquiltguild.blogspot.com/2015/07/quilty-podcasts.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. With summer here many of us are taking trips, either on the road or in the air, which means time away from our sewing machines. Many times my daughter has her headphones in listening to her music and my husband will have his music blaring on the car radio - this is usually my signal to put my OWN headphones in since my taste in music is not theirs! To get my quilting fix, I will tune in to a quilty themed podcast. Here are a few of my favorites:. While She Naps/Abby Glassenberg.

Orlando Modern Quilt Guild: May Block of the Month
http://theorlandomodernquiltguild.blogspot.com/2015/04/may-block-of-month.html
Wednesday, April 1, 2015. May Block of the Month. In May we'll be back to using our scrap basket, using bright colors and white or cream backgrounds. It is a very simple block with no points to match and very little to measure:. You can also do rows with just one color like the pink row below:. When you assemble the blocks into a quilt top, they form cute wonky columns. The instructions are here. April 23, 2015 at 7:41 AM. I can do this! Even if Im short on time! Keep the conversation going!

Orlando Modern Quilt Guild: January Block of the Month
http://theorlandomodernquiltguild.blogspot.com/2014/12/january-block-of-month.html
Wednesday, December 3, 2014. January Block of the Month. For January, we'll do a very simple block in "winterish" colors: grays and blues with white background. Light tones seem nicest, but of course any shade will do. The block is a double chevron design:. Here is what multiple blocks look like:. It makes a 12 1/2 inch block. The instructions are here. And it's so easy you may want to do more than one. December 10, 2014 at 11:17 AM. Thanks for the fun block! I cant wait to these in January! Welcome to t...

Orlando Modern Quilt Guild: August BOM
http://theorlandomodernquiltguild.blogspot.com/2015/07/august-bom.html
Thursday, July 2, 2015. Well, it is my turn. I made this block a couple of years ago, and I admit to getting confused about which piece was the Geese, and which was the background. (I may have ripped out a few pieces because of putting the geese fabric in the background place or vice versa). Christina Lane has a very good tutorial for paper piecing this block here. If you know how to paper piece and don't need the tutorial, just print the template here. When your unit is made, Leave the paper on the back.

Orlando Modern Quilt Guild: April Block of the Month
http://theorlandomodernquiltguild.blogspot.com/2015/03/april-block-of-month.html
Wednesday, March 4, 2015. April Block of the Month. Let's all make Friendship Star blocks for April's block lotto. The tutorial I followed can be found here. Your block should measure 12.5" with seam allowances to finish at 12". I went scrappy and used cream and low volume prints for the background squares and chose blues for the star. Follow the color palette as a guide for selecting blue fabrics for the star and any white/cream/neutral fabric will do for the background. March 8, 2015 at 1:08 PM.

Allison Sews: C+S mini quilt swap
http://allison-sews.blogspot.com/2015/08/cs-mini-quilt-swap.html
Tutorials and Free Patterns. Monday, August 3, 2015. C S mini quilt swap. I've been trying to sign up for less swaps as I'm always procrastinating to get them done but some are useless to resist against. This was one of them and with four months before it had to be sent, surely I would get it done with plenty of time to spare. Right? Not so much. But I did have a plan and knew what to make for at least 2 months if that counts for anything. Viewfinder fabric for the binding. Free pattern). All in all,...

Quilt Draw. Embroider. Paint. And sew on…. 11 For Jacob →. September 7, 2016. The other day I woke up and realized that I can’t be a tattooed, quilter and crafty lady in her late 20s and not have a blog. I mean really, have you seen my bangs? I’m pretty sure not blogging with these bangs is completely against the natural order of things. So here we go! And took the choosing of the block way too seriously (again! But this time I came up empty handed. So I made my own. So let’s dive in! Mark the backs of a...
