Back in the Desert: November 2012
http://backinthedesert.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Back in the Desert. Wednesday, November 7, 2012. November 7, 2012. I have received a number of emails and posts on Facebook this morning either exulting victory or weeping in defeat. I, a Romney supporter, am not depressed. Our country will survive. Those who disagree with me can consider Canada, Mexico or Cuba, all bordering our country or close to it. I pray for our leaders and that they will be blessed with wisdom and strength. So may we. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). November, according to my phone.

Back in the Desert. Sunday, July 19, 2015. Why I Don't Write. Recently, I had a friend comment on this blog with the remark, "Why don't you write on your blog? The question gave me pause. In the past few years, I have written to prison inmates. I now have four. Perhaps, letters to them each week fulfills my creative juices. Another friend questioned the wisdom of writing prisoners saying it probably does't accomplish much. As I seldom hear from any of them, it was a good question. Why I Dont Write.

Back in the Desert. Tuesday, November 11, 2014. It's always a hard-to-talk-about topic. We lost Brenda's Uncle Max a few days ago and, of course, we feel sad and know we will miss him. Brenda and I visited him at his home in San Marco, California last June. He was suffering gallantly and smiling as always. Two words come to mind when I think about Max: kind and classy. Back in the Desert. Monday, November 18, 2013. November 22, 1963. Three years later, I was saddened by the tragedy. Kennedy was young and had great charisma. I wouldn't wish what happened to him on any one. I have often wondered what our country would have been like had the assassination never taken place. I happend to see Robert Kennedy at a Brigham Young University assembly just a few days before he was assassinated. It was another tragic, sorrowful event. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Back in the Desert. Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Back in the Desert. Friday, September 13, 2013. My Dad was a great story teller. he didn't invent any, embellished maybe, but had a knack for finding interest and humor in the events of his life. He lead an interesting and varied life. One of his favorites, Dad invited an athletic young lady to his high school football game. As the game progressed, it was quite dull. Dad and his date were eating oranges. It was a different era. She said to Dad, "See that cop down on the field? One night, Dad was manning ...

Back in the Desert. Wednesday, August 8, 2012. Of Chicken, Coffee, Computers and Kisses. On the other hand, Starbucks, America's most popular coffee outlet has declared their support for gay marriage as has the Apple Computer Company. We have become so sensitive and reactionary to anyone who disagrees with us that we can hardly function. Can't we have a rational conversation or just agree to disagree? I do not believe in boycotts or protests against certain institutions just because we oppose their belie...
