http://81degreesnorth.blogspot.com/2010/09/august-17th-north-shore-of-svalbard.html
81 Degrees North and the Land of the Midnight Sun. August 17th - Monacobreen - north shore of Svalbard. We moored in Monacobreen, a fjord with lots of ice floating in the water and several glaciers. We were in the second group of Zodiacs to leave the ship and we heard that one of the first Zodiacs had seen a polar bear, albeit in the distance. Our Zodiac was driven by Christian and our guide was Sue Flood. As we got nearer to the glacier, we saw some calving taking place but it was a long way away. Eugen...

81 Degrees North and the Land of the Midnight Sun: August 15th - Sail north to 81 degrees
http://81degreesnorth.blogspot.com/2010/09/august-15th-81-degrees-north.html
81 Degrees North and the Land of the Midnight Sun. August 15th - Sail north to 81 degrees. We woke in the morning as the boat headed more or less due north and away from Svalbard to meet the pack ice. We passed the last of the most northerly islands of Svalbard shrouded in cloud and surrounded by ice at around 7.30am. We went on to the bow to watch the ship making its way through the ever increasing floes of ice. We then went to a lecture on Polar Bears by Robin Aiello which was interesting and entertain...

http://81degreesnorth.blogspot.com/2010/09/august-21st-tromso-and-disembark.html
81 Degrees North and the Land of the Midnight Sun. August 21st - At sea - Tromso. We had a leisurely breakfast with Randy and Mardi from Canmore near Calgary. We then watched a screening of the film Kristine has been making of the trip, which was very good, but, at a cost of $150, we decided not to order a copy! Following Kristine's talk there was a farewell gatherimg in the theatre. We went up on deck and had our first sighting of the Norwegian mainland. We drove a short way to the Botanical Gardens whi...

Cruise across Canada - May 2010 www.drivecanada.blogspot.com. May 6th - Lake Louise. This post is being written at 7am on May 7th just before we head for Banff. And then on to tonight's stop in Calgary. Yesterday was our first rest day of the drive and because of the UK election the afternoon was spent glued to my laptop watching the election coverage on BBC. We finally got to bed around midnight, 7am in the UK, and I then realised I hadn't done my normal daily post! By the time we returned to our room t...

Cruise across Canada - May 2010 www.drivecanada.blogspot.com. May 10th - Nipawin to The Pas, Manitoba. The road going due east from Nipawin was dead straight for 68kms before we came to the first bend. Shortly after, we came to the beginning of 100kms of good gravel taking us into the Northern Provincial Forest. After 10kms of the gravel section, who should we see coming in the opposite direction but Kenny and DeeAnne! Not long after we had met Dearld we crossed the border from Saskatchewan into Manitoba...

http://newfoundlandtogeorgia.blogspot.com/2011/10/savannah-to-atlanta.html
StJohn's to Savannah - September 14th to October 3rd 2011. A three thousand eight hundred miles drive from St.John's, Newfoundland, down the Eastern Seaboard of North America, to Savannah, Georgia. The first week of the drive, from St.John's to Halifax, Nova Scotia, completes the coast to coast Canadian drive we started in May 2010, albeit driving in the opposite direction! I hate to think of people driving some of the repaired wrecks! This cotton bud looks like it has been carefully tied up like a parcel.
