The heart of the searchable on-line database is the ability to locate and track wells regulated under Article 23 of the Environmental Conservation Law, mainly oil, gas, solution salt mining and underground gas storage wells. In addition, the law also regulates brine disposal, stratigraphic and geothermal wells greater than 500 feet deep. Is a project of the Center for Healthy Environments and Communities. A coalition to protect our communities. We WON the battle to ban fracking in New York! New York is still threatened by fracked gas, however. New pipelines, storage facilities, and power plants using fracked “natural gas” are being proposed, and fought, all over the state. We don’t frack here, we shouldn’t use fracked gas here either.
