The way I’m reading it she doesn’t boost herself, and X-Wings likely have enough firepower to cancel her birthday real fast, so she really is best used sitting at range 1 from a blob of ordinary TIEs...And the dial comman...

World of Tanks: Finding What I Like. So I have gone back to WoT because it’s a fun game and it lends itself to short sessions or binges, depending on my stress level and how much of my own incompetence i can put up with. I like this game, it’s fun, there’s as much depth as you want to put into it. An Eve playing Fool who...

The short version is that there’s a lot of situations at X-Wing tournaments where an intentional draw is to the advantage of both players, and tournament mechanics combined with how FFG has enforced certain wordings has encouraged it. The short, short version is that people are being rewarded to not play the game. To wrap up this messy post; tourneys can take a fun game and turn it int...

Was I back | One capsuleer against all
https://handown.wordpress.com/2013/07/30/was-i-back
One capsuleer against all. This is about EVE Online. It seems a long time ago since I stopped playing EVE. Back in January I had this urge to return but never actually did. EVE is still at the back of my mind, yet there is no interest to return back. Not to any other game either. Certainly a guy with his depth of criticism isn’t doing this just for the isk or any other target the game has to offer? This entry was posted on 30/07/2013 by Handown. It was filed under General. Flying Silent: A Day of Thanks
http://flyingsilently.blogspot.com/2012/11/a-day-of-thanks.html
Cloaked in the horizon twixt sound and silence. Thursday, November 22, 2012. A Day of Thanks. First and foremost, Happy Thanksgiving to all of my brothers and sisters-at-arms, my friends, my internet spaceship family. I know that a relative few of you are actually celebrating the holiday with me, as it is an American tradition, but that doesn't prohibit us from sharing the meaning of the day. And within New Eden, I have much to be thankful for. I'm thankful for Patrick, our alliance XO, who has become on...

Flying Silent: September 2012

Cloaked in the horizon twixt sound and silence. Wednesday, September 5, 2012. Well, here it be September and I hadn't said anything yet. Let's get to changin' that, shall we? The thing that got me thinking was the experience driving each delegate's perspective. Well, that and the fact that somebody. The second is the fact that while we have several different playstyles and arenas of expertise represented, there is one that is noticeably absent: the itinerant, inexperienced capsuleer. Now, there are two a...

Cloaked in the horizon twixt sound and silence. Wednesday, October 31, 2012. You really didn't think I was going to let October draw to a close without saying anything, did you? Shame on you. :). This entire month finds me in a place familiar to much of New Eden: a period of transition. How thoroughly apropos that it occurs coincident with the arrival of the American autumn. This isn't one of those grand, "I'm leaving the game. X up if you want my stuffs." sign-offs. I will return to New Eden...Splats al...

Cloaked in the horizon twixt sound and silence. Thursday, December 6, 2012. It's a Show About Nothing: BB41. BB41: Director’s Cut. The universe of EVE is not without its drama and epic stories, both in and out of game. Imagine a publisher, movie studio or television network asked you to prepare a pitch for a new brand of EVE-flavoured entertainment. This could be your big break, what would be your synopsis to bring New Eden to the wider audience? So I almost tackled and killed a Harby last night.". We'd ...
