Learning to walk in His footsteps. Monday, August 16, 2010. Love, as a Brother. You know. Sometimes i think to myself, why am i always just so concerned. It feels stupid, it feels like you will never reap any benefits, will never gain anything, but im always still concerned. I guess thats called a brother. I was right. I guessed right. Two-Edged Sword: Lengthening LENT
http://two-edgedsword.blogspot.com/2007/03/lengthening-lent.html
Hodgepodge of articles written for the church bulletin since 2003. Saturday, April 07, 2007. I have a personal fascination with commemorative events on the Christian calendar. Furthermore, the stipulated period of time leading up to an event, as opposed to just a single day, gives me the much-needed time in reflection and preparation before the oft-busy season descends on the church. It hardly seemed two months ago that Advent preceded Christmas, and now we are already into the second week of Lent.

However 40 days on, Ascension Day usually comes and goes quietly without half as much notice. Yet it is a most essential part of the Christian story…. What is so significant about the fact that Jesus ascended into heaven? Why did He have to leave us for that very matter if we read in the gospels of how much He accomplished in person? I for one would find that very helpful in fin...

Hodgepodge of articles written for the church bulletin since 2003. Sunday, January 14, 2007. The Mind of a Servant. The Father had given all things into His hands,. And that He was come from God,. And went to God;. He riseth from supper, and laid aside His garments. And began to wash the disciples’ feet. In service, in ministry, in working with others who may or may not think or act like us, we need humility. But how exactly does this humility come about? 1 Know.God’s AUTHORITY. 2 Know.our IDENTITY.

Hodgepodge of articles written for the church bulletin since 2003. Sunday, September 18, 2005. A Place to Question. A wayward child, natural calamities, betrayal by a trusted one, physical afflictions, a barrenness perhaps of body and soul. Many of us have discovered the hard way that more often than not life is not fair, justice is not duly served, and there isn’t always an explanation for the things that happen to or around us. Somewhere to Be Real. 8220;My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? I am ...
