Sunday, November 22, 2009. I am so grateful for family, friends and the muses. Since my husband's accident on 5/1, I've had a tough time creating. Normally I paint every day. But for several months, I was really dragging my self to the canvas. And there were times when I never went at all. For the first time ever, I was blocked. At this official time of gratitude I want to send out a special thanks to all my family and friends who have supported us through this difficult time. Where is this leading?

Tuesday, June 08, 2010. Sometimes the only way out is through the murk. In late March, early April of 2008, the melody and lyrics for this song abruptly emerged. But try as I might, I could not finish it. I wasn't so sure I wanted to finish the piece. Like a sunflower, I make it a priority to reach for the light. This song is lonely, sad and angry. Monday, December 21, 2009. Some of my creative work is careful. And then there are the times when I let my self run wild and free no matter the consequences. The lack of restraint is evident in my abstracts, landscapes and much of my music. I started this song last weekend and it wouldn't let me go all week. I holed up in the studio all weekend and didn't come out till last night when it was done. I've had a tough go with my music for several months. It felt really good to get this out. Runs wild and free.

I immediately reopened the door and discovered that a decorative easel had fallen over and impaled one of my sock monkey paintings. The poor little guy took it right on the chin.
