Ia hidup dengan bertani dan memancing ikan. Suatu hari, ia memancing dan mendapatkan ikan tangkapan yang aneh. Ikan itu besar dan sangat indah. Warnanya keemasan. Ia lalu melepas pancingnya dan memegangi ikan itu. Tetapi saat tersentuh tangannya, ikan itu berubah menjadi seorang putri yang cantik! Baiklah, Adinda....

Jika saya turun dari Sipahutar, lalu ke Siarangarang, saya menatap derasnya Sungai ini yang menderu hingga ke Siatas Barita. Entah ke mana muaranya. Saya tidak bisa lupa kisah-kisah di balik itu. Penduduk Tarutung. Sungai ini pun memang teramat sunyi, tenang dan berwibawa. Membawa serta kisah-kisah mistik ini mengalir, sekali lagi entah ke mana muaranya.
