Kristie's Cafe - A Collection Of Recipes, Advice, And Things I've Learned Along The Way. Tuesday, July 5, 2011. I love fresh summer produce, and I do enjoy vegetarian dishes. I recently discovered a new way to cook spaghetti squash without having to put my oven on in the heat of the summer. You can simply boil it in a large pot of water for 15-20 minutes and it's done! Much faster then roasting it in the oven. Here's how to cook it:. Use as a side dish and top with butter and Parmesan cheese. I definitel...

Tales of a human musician. Posted by Valerie Nebbia. August 12, 2011. Andrew spent last night at the campus observatory. So this morning we got to see a little more of Daddy than usual. As I am 8 months pregnant my first thought after “can I make it to the bathroom” was “what should we have for breakfast? 8220;How about pancakes? 8221; I asked Andrew, trying not to sound too enthusiastic. 8220;Or we could do donuts…”. I paused looking to him to fill in the gaps of his plan. 8220;Dat should be gate! Say w...

Tales of a human musician. My History With Eczema. Posted by Valerie Nebbia. August 8, 2011. I noticed that one of my dear friends, Courtney, had markings all over her arms. This was a type of rash I had never seen before – peculiar, red and raised. It look extremely uncomfortable so I asked about it being as empathetic as my own daughter, who when hearing another child scolded bursts into tears. Mommy's dancing, Daddy's skin. That is until I met Andrew. I was in love with Andrew from the moment I met hi...

First, and I know I’ve said this a million times but I am surprised that I didn’t marry myself. (I know. Right? Andrew is so much different than me and when he disagrees with me I am still shocked every time. Every Single. Time. I’ve also been surprised at how awesome fighting is. Andrew bought me these flowers yesterday...

Tales of a human musician. Don’t Leave The House Without…. Posted by Valerie Nebbia. January 28, 2011. Nevermind. Just don’t leave the house. I’m kidding of course. I love leaving the house for a little while every day. It’s good for both Clare and I. My sweet girl happily drawing by herself. I’m not gonna lie. Before I had Clare I could stay inside and not worry about what humans outside my small world were doing. I could cuddle up on a snow day and relax. Because there are the worst behaved screaming c...

Tales of a human musician. He’s Our Man. Posted by Valerie Nebbia. November 18, 2009. I’m celebrating another birthday today. 2 years ago my nephew Jack was born. Whether you have a close family or not there is always a question of whether a new family member will fit in and I remember feeling that same uncertainty before Jack was born. Jack is the second grandchild and his older brother. Unlike Joey’s birth, Jack’s was intimate and small as most of the family was asleep and Andrea’s si...I lived close t...

Kristie's Cafe - A Collection Of Recipes, Advice, And Things I've Learned Along The Way. Tuesday, February 9, 2010. Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies. One of my fondest memories as a kid, was going to my grandma's house. She always had peanut butter cookies, and was truly a special treat when I'd see her. It just so happens that the last time I saw her she asked me to make her peanut butter cookies! This is my version of a kicked up peanut butter cookie! Hope you like them as much as my grandma did!
