MenPaintingLemons: Adam Forfang
http://menpaintinglemons.blogspot.com/2016/04/adam-forfang.html
Friday, April 8, 2016. Adam Forfang www.adamforfang.com. Is a west coast artist who's work I first spotted at John Pence. I think I remember reading that he worked the desk there for a while. It had to be tough to get noticed in that crowd. What I noticed right away was that Adams paint application was juicier, even though his rendering was as tight as it needed to be, Plus he's got a good sense of humor. MenPaintingLemons: Devin Cecil-Wishing
http://menpaintinglemons.blogspot.com/2016/02/devin-cecil-wishing.html
Wednesday, February 3, 2016. Devin Cecil-Wishing www.devincecil-wishing.com. Makes some really standout lemons! When I was a student one of my instructors used to tell me to "smash the light". Devin smashes the light and then some. His lemons seem to glow from within. He's so good at capturing light effects that I could really learn to hate him if I didn't like his work so much. MenPaintingLemons: Tom Gregg
http://menpaintinglemons.blogspot.com/2016/02/tom-gregg.html
Saturday, February 13, 2016. Tom Gregg is a still life painter who seems to be influenced by the great Wayne Thibaud. His colors are pushed to full saturation, yet there is still something very contemplative once you've gotten over the initial shock of his neon colors or strange juxtapositions (grenades and kewpie dolls? He doesn't have a website (why not Tom? But you can see his work on the George Billis gallery's website. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

MenPaintingLemons: Will Wilson
http://menpaintinglemons.blogspot.com/2016/02/will-wilson.html
Thursday, February 18, 2016. Will Wilson www.willwilsonstudio.com. Paints lemons that are scary-good! His painting ability is like an out of control train that just barely manages to stay on the tracks. Who else would paint the life cycle of a lemon and make us give a damn? MenPaintingLemons: Russell Gordon
http://menpaintinglemons.blogspot.com/2016/02/russell-gordon.html
Thursday, February 4, 2016. Russell Gordon www.GordonArtStudio.com. Paints some really butt-kicking lemons. Like an animation artist he seems to add a slight bit of anthropomorphism to his fruit, and just where another artist might venture into mawkishness Russell saves the day with his incredible ability to render light, form. and color, in a way that is mesmerizing! http://menpaintinglemons.blogspot.com/2016/02/welcome-to-my-new-art-blog.html
Tuesday, February 2, 2016. Welcome To My New Art Blog. I was inspired by the blog www.womenpaintingwomen.blogspot.com. I'm not sure (aren't lemons already objects? Do we look at lemons differently from women? Do we see sour fruit and they see lemonade? I'll start off with one of my own lemon paintings "Lemons, Canoe, and Bottle" oil on panel, 16"x20". More of my work can be found at www.ShawnSullivanPaintings.com. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Welcome To My New Art Blog.
