sheep to frog: November 2016
http://sheeptofrog.blogspot.com/2016_11_01_archive.html
Adventures in knitting from a frequent frogger. Monday, 21 November 2016. Stash plans once the gifting is done. I'm knitting gifts until mid-December. Then, I'm knitting up my stash using my Botanical Knits book. I have plans for almost all of the patterns in the book, and have already knit one, my Twin Leaf Loop:. Up next I have yarn for 2 sweaters and the rest of the accessories (minus the socks - I can't knit tightly enough to get gauge for socks in sock weight yarn):. Sunday, 6 November 2016. From th...

http://sheeptofrog.blogspot.com/2016_10_01_archive.html
Adventures in knitting from a frequent frogger. Sunday, 16 October 2016. USED - Slow October accessories. I do own a fabulous purse made from recycled seat belts:. That makes them is Canadian - U.S.E.D. or "Unlimited Supplies from Everyone's Discards". I love my purse. It has a long shoulder strap, is so durable that it still looks new a year later, and has a sturdy buckle (seatbelt buckle, of course! Saturday, 8 October 2016. Slow Down, You Move Too Fast. First up: I've frogged this. I knit it without a...
sheep to frog: April 2016
http://sheeptofrog.blogspot.com/2016_04_01_archive.html
Adventures in knitting from a frequent frogger. Tuesday, 26 April 2016. FO - Blue Devil Beanie. Saturday, 16 April 2016. On the Needles this spring. I'm finishing up some projects, starting some new ones. I don't like knitting spring/summer things, as the season is so short here. That said, I have a few things planned for when these are done:. Hat - pattern by Thea Coleman (Babycocktails) and yarn is Madeline Tosh DK. Love the colour and the yarn is so smooth! Still working on my Long Vest.
sheep to frog: May 2016
http://sheeptofrog.blogspot.com/2016_05_01_archive.html
Adventures in knitting from a frequent frogger. Sunday, 22 May 2016. And runners who had finished were walking back along the route with warming blankets and food in hands. But I couldn't see the finish. Even though I knew it was there, and people were cheering me on, it might as well have been another 40 km away in my mind because it wasn't in sight. I felt like I'd never get there. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Parent, Partner, Knitter, Reader, Teacher, Friend. View my complete profile.
sheep to frog: March 2016
http://sheeptofrog.blogspot.com/2016_03_01_archive.html
Adventures in knitting from a frequent frogger. Sunday, 20 March 2016. Last FO of the winter! Today is the first day of Spring. This winter has been long, although not too arduous. No ice storms, only a handful of really snowy days, but still a lot of gray skies. I do love the warmth of winter garments - thick wool sweaters, cozy scarves and wraps. I finished my Paloma. ETA - modeled photos:. Thursday, 17 March 2016. An equation that works. As a result, I've finally finished my Bastille Cowl. I also knit...

Breathing Life: April 2015
https://mary-mann.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
A diary of the second half of life. A life that includes swimming, knitting, parenting, depression, love, humour, faith, and grace. Not necessarily in that order. Thursday, April 30, 2015. Z is for Zion. The star of David. Another reference to our Grade Three year together when we learned about the Hebrew people trying to find a home. This form was also one we learned to draw free-hand in Grade Five and then with compass in Grade Six. And this square fits in with today's theme too:. For making our threes...
Breathing Life: Socks from one hemisphere to another
https://mary-mann.blogspot.com/2015/08/socks-from-one-hemisphere-to-another.html
A diary of the second half of life. A life that includes swimming, knitting, parenting, depression, love, humour, faith, and grace. Not necessarily in that order. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Socks from one hemisphere to another. I met Wendy of the Rock. While doing the NaBloMo blogging challenge last November. Even though I am enjoying the hottest, driest summer on my back porch, of course she is 'enjoying' winter in her neck of the woods. I had enough yarn left over to knit another pair for me. What a lov...
Breathing Life: July 2014
https://mary-mann.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
A diary of the second half of life. A life that includes swimming, knitting, parenting, depression, love, humour, faith, and grace. Not necessarily in that order. Wednesday, July 30, 2014. About 18 months ago we installed a bird feeder. It has been a delight for us watching the birds change with the seasons, getting to know what they are and their quirky little personalities. I have been tending them all summer. The sunflower is putting out many heads and happily following the sun. So is it a pumpkin?

A diary of the second half of life. A life that includes swimming, knitting, parenting, depression, love, humour, faith, and grace. Not necessarily in that order. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. If wishes were horses then beggars would ride. This adage has been rumbling around in my brain this week. I think I first heard it from my mother, but I can't be certain. I know it is one I have repeated to others time and again. This has been a difficult week (and it is only Wednesday! Someone I love very much was ...
Breathing Life: Just don't lie to me
https://mary-mann.blogspot.com/2015/08/just-dont-lie-to-me.html
A diary of the second half of life. A life that includes swimming, knitting, parenting, depression, love, humour, faith, and grace. Not necessarily in that order. Monday, August 17, 2015. Just don't lie to me. I can take a lot. The thought that people lie. That is a hard one. Sure, you will say. Everyone lies. True, I guess. but there are lies, and there are Lies. It is hard when someone claims to lie to spare my feelings. Or to spare their's. It was hard to acknowledge that I lie. To make a story better.
Breathing Life: Keeping them safe
https://mary-mann.blogspot.com/2015/08/keeping-them-safe.html
A diary of the second half of life. A life that includes swimming, knitting, parenting, depression, love, humour, faith, and grace. Not necessarily in that order. Saturday, August 8, 2015. When my children were little I did my best to keep them safe and to be there when they needed me. I put aloe on their sunburns, and made oatmeal baths when they had chicken pox. I gave them cool baths when their fevers were too high, and ran the steamer all through the night when they had croup. They are both adults now.

Monday, August 3, 2015. 50 Shades of Breathing Life. Lily Pups Life posted her 50 Shades. And it sounded like an interesting idea, so here are mine. 1) I love Mexican Coca Cola. It tastes more cinnamony to me than the regular stuff. 2) I had a border collie, Maggie, for sixteen years. She was the best dog ever. 14) My father died when I was sev...

A diary of the second half of life. A life that includes swimming, knitting, parenting, depression, love, humour, faith, and grace. Not necessarily in that order. Friday, February 27, 2015. Finished Object Friday - it was a close one. Last summer I bought some lovely sock yarn. At 67 grams I realized it wasn't really enough for a pair of socks, and since it was a one off from an independent dyer I put it aside. So first sock done. When I measure how much yarn it took this was what I got:. I started anoth...
Breathing Life: June 2015
https://mary-mann.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
A diary of the second half of life. A life that includes swimming, knitting, parenting, depression, love, humour, faith, and grace. Not necessarily in that order. Sunday, June 28, 2015. A thermostat sets the temperature. A thermometer takes the temperature. I remember once hearing the saying that when you enter a room you should be a thermostat, not a thermometer. It made sense at the time. Last week I realized. I AM A THERMOMETER. Well, that can't be good. But I stopped myself. It works for me. And my b...
