Saving Miss Jen: April 2009
http://savingmissjen.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 3, 2009. Then Mandy hopped on her for a short bit in the paddock. Jen was a bit anxious about that, and she had a real grumpy face as we walked through the paddock. Then we stopped for a photo op. Jen didn't look real happy, and she kept biting at Mandy's foot. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Jen has had a couple of more rides this past mont. Saving Miss Jen: Update
http://savingmissjen.blogspot.com/2010/06/update.html
Monday, June 28, 2010. I haven't updated Jen's blog in quite some time, mostly due to time-constrains, and I what I feel is nothing exciting that someone would want to take the time to read. But I'll bore you anyway with the "not much" that has been going on here. I will continue to do EquineTouch on her, which I admittedly have not done enough of, only a few sessions over the years. Oh, Jen is actually more worried about having tack removed, and gets really scared when you take the saddle off her. S...

Saving Miss Jen: December 2008
http://savingmissjen.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 20, 2008. I got up this morning, and put my hands to the glass slider door to thebalcony in the bedroom. I said to my husband "Its around 15F out there". He laughed. I fed dogs, booted up the computer, then headed out with mush for Whinney the toothless pony, and hay for the rest of the girls. It was 7 am, with 10 inches of fresh snow on the ground, and the wind blowing some more flurries around. I'm still pretty numb at 7 am, especially before coffee. No wonder she was chilly, with th...

Saving Miss Jen: Dental work
http://savingmissjen.blogspot.com/2010/11/dental-work.html
Monday, November 1, 2010. Last Friday, I came home from work late, and my daughter says to me "Hey Mom, Jen has a marshmallow on the side of her face". Greaaatt. See, Jen is "that" horse. You know, the one in every herd that has some kind of injury or weirdness? She's that one here. No such luck. By Sunday it was bigger again, but still no heat, swelling or problems eating. I called the vet Monday, and she was out Tuesday. The short answer? Jen's procedure went well. The clinic removed the #4 premola...

Saving Leroy: March and April, 2008
http://savingleroy.blogspot.com/2008/08/march-and-april-2008.html
Friday, August 1, 2008. March and April, 2008. The dentist came in April and saw him. Leroy wasn't too thrilled at first, but James Cormier. At the end of April, we've had some bizarre weather with 70's on up to 80F, then late April its back down to 20's at night, and 40's during the day with rain. The other morning, I found Leroy shivering in the rain! Leroy's mane and forelock are also growing by leaps and bounds! Here are a couple of pics from late April, of the old man doing what he does best. Eat.

Saving Leroy: 11/13/07
http://savingleroy.blogspot.com/2008/08/111307.html
Friday, August 1, 2008. Photos from the next morning. Now I can see in the daylight that Leroy is VERY underweight. His spine and withers are protruding, you can count every rib, and he has absolutely no muscling to his hindquarters at all, he is just bones. He also has a big "wattle" of skin hanging off his neck, where its obvious he had a big, cresty draft neck at some point in his life. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Subscribe To Saving Leroy. Saving Leroy: 11/15/07
http://savingleroy.blogspot.com/2008/08/111507.html
Friday, August 1, 2008. I stretched my hand out for Leroy to sniff me like I do every day, and he seemed interested. I went to stroke his head, and he gave me that snarky lip thing like "If you touch me, I'll nip you! I told him that was rude, and let him be. But later on that night, I got a nicker when I came out with hay! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Subscribe To Saving Leroy. Musings from the Bottom of Chestnut Hill.
