Heather's Korea Blog: August 2008
http://yearofkimchi.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
My life in Busan. Monday, August 25, 2008. Another's perspectives on Korea. Oftentimes I think that I miss a lot, taking the scenery and the differences here for granted as normal happenings in day-to-day life. I've noticed that the more of the world that I see, the more this tendency strengthens. Although I do see. It all, of course, the sights and experiences don't always register on my "hmm, I should blog about that! Radar (which may account for the lack of posts here, compared to my first travel blog).

Heather's Korea Blog: June 2008
http://yearofkimchi.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
My life in Busan. Sunday, June 29, 2008. Dongbaek Island, samgyetang, and a temple. Today a lovely Korean co-worker took me on a bit of a tour of Busan. It was such a good day! We went to Dongbaek Island, where the APEC conference of 2005 took place. Some of you know that I chose Busan because it matched up most closely to my ideal-lifestyle city: Vancouver. As we walked toward the island, I was struck by the similarities to Stanley park! Aww It even has its own seawall. But I digress. Though Buddhis...

Heather's Korea Blog: This is how it is.
http://yearofkimchi.blogspot.com/2009/03/this-is-how-it-is.html
My life in Busan. Wednesday, March 4, 2009. This is how it is. I've obviously reached the point where life is so normal. That I see no point in taking the time to post. This always happens; I apologize. I'll endeavour to do more posting. However, here is a link to a blog which is not only far more interesting, pretty, and informative about life in Busan than mine. but it seems to be updated more often too :). Heather's Korea Blog: an English Village in my backyard!
http://yearofkimchi.blogspot.com/2009/03/english-village-in-my-backyard.html
My life in Busan. Tuesday, March 24, 2009. An English Village in my backyard! Ever since I've lived here, on the opposite side of the intersection there has been much construction. The sign board proclaimed "Busan Global Village" and I'd wondered what that could possibly mean. Well as I was searching through job postings today, I found an ad; apparently this is an English Village! So, I live next to an English Village! If able, send me an email! March 26, 2009 at 7:14 AM. Cooking Korean food with Maangchi.

Heather's Korea Blog: May 2009

My life in Busan. Monday, May 25, 2009. A good time to leave? I am a little nervous. Yesterday, North Korea tested a nuclear bomb that seems to be much larger than the one it initially tested in 2006. A few hours later, the country test-fired a handful of short-range missiles. This is unnerving even under the best of circumstances, but, keep in mind that North Korea has. All sorts of weapons aimed at the big cities of the South (I have been living in the 2nd largest). Heather's Korea Blog: October 2008
http://yearofkimchi.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
My life in Busan. Sunday, October 26, 2008. At last, our trip to Costco. Sherry and I have been planning to visit Costco for months. In fact, our scheming commenced even before we'd left Canada! Yesterday, we finally jumped on a train and made it to Daegu. Soon after passing through the doors of Costco, I stumbled across a very cheap 2GB memory card for my camera. So we decided to take a video of our experience. hahaha we're such geeks. On a walk to the gym. Saturday, October 18, 2008. I found another ma...

Heather's Korea Blog: November 2008
http://yearofkimchi.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
My life in Busan. Thursday, November 27, 2008. The other end of the lens. Thanks to lovely Marina, I now have a bunch of pictures (with ME in them) taken over the past few months. I am not a fan of being the subject of a photo, but for you. ;). This is my 'hood. I don't actually live in the middle of Seomyeon, but this craziness is a 10 minute walk away! Marina documented the experience. Next up is hiking with Young, a.k.a. Azucar, my former salsa teacher. Afterwards we had shabu-shabu. Afterwards, when ...

Heather's Korea Blog: July 2008
http://yearofkimchi.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
My life in Busan. Sunday, July 20, 2008. Beomeosa, the mud festival, Tongdosa, and some doen jjang. It's been awhile since I've posted about what I've been up to! Let's start with Beomeosa. That was three weeks ago. Beomeosa is a huge temple not too far away. The grounds are extensive. I can foresee many lovely afternoons spent sitting by the stream here, hiking the trails, reading and meditating. Language barriers, pfft! Last weekend I went to the mud festival in Boryeong. Here is a half-finished versio...
