RunningSu: May 2010

Monday, 10 May 2010. Everytime I run in France I marvel at the wonderful playful atmosphere which surrounds their races. maybe its the events I choose, but they certainly are a blast. Marathon de Blaye was no exception. I had thought about running it a few years ago, but the desire to get a reasonably priced entry to the Marathon de Medoc prompted me to take out a magnum entry so now I have a magnum ticket to run two wine marathons. And Marathon du Médoc. And was great fun! Special thanks are due to thre...

RunningSu: Travel Note - the joy and value of public spirited collaboration
http://runningsu.blogspot.com/2011/04/travel-note.html
Wednesday, 13 April 2011. Travel Note - the joy and value of public spirited collaboration. This is just a note really, I was trying to work out where exactly. The tram route in Montpellier ran. As we all know, just a map alone is often insuffienct, especially when you don't know the area too well. However, being a curious soul, I also found this really useful French Routes wiki. Where people have uploaded the gps route. Here is a link to the wiki which show the tram routes in Montpellier.

Wednesday, 14 April 2010. Measuring your progress: WAVA Age Grade Ratings. WAVA stands for World Association of Veteran Athletes. You can use your WAVA rating to give yourself a target and to calibrate your performance. It's a great way to make comparisons between runners of all ages. I follow my WAVA on Fetch currently my best score is around 70 for a cross country race - although I don't do quite so well in all races. If you register with Fetch. Over 90% - - World Class. Over 80% - - National Class.

RunningSu: October 2010
http://runningsu.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, 28 October 2010. Flying with my Brompton. How do you do it, I hear you ask. I can pack bike in the case for long haul, just removing the saddle. I pack bits and pieces in the bag, laying the pannier on the top. The case is airnimal, but I can't track it down right now. Brompton do one now, not sure of the spec, see http:/ www.foldingbikes.co.uk/brompton bags.htm. Mine is particularly fine because the case has four wheels. Thursday, October 28, 2010. Me and my brompton. Tuesday, 26 October 2010.

RunningSu: January 2011
http://runningsu.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, 1 January 2011. A Year of Running in 2010. Running in 2010 took me through at least 1200 logged miles ( and that's not counting any impromptu efforts to catch buses and trains). Running for me is about finding thinking time and finding a way that a middle aged woman can eat good food, indulge in fine wine, and still maintain a semblance of a slim(ish) fit(ish) body! Chilworth after a storm. Ashurst Run - meeting the pig. We are very lucky in Southampton to be so close to the New Forest. Thi...

RunningSu: LEJOG Gently
http://runningsu.blogspot.com/2012/07/lejog-gently.html
Monday, 16 July 2012. Well the first day of LeJog is done. If I was able to master my passwords you would read this on lejoggently.wordpress.com but I can't, so you can't - another day. We are calling it lejogGently for good reason(s). We are taking it gently. We are not being sponsored. We are not trying to raise money for the many noble causes we support. We do not want to get broken. The Tour De France has rest days, so will we. You can get a sore bum and tired legs without overdoing it! After a suppe...

Saturday, 30 May 2015. Mixing it up has to be good. Right? Well when you sign up fur two marathons with a long cycling holiday in the middle its kind of inevitable. Right now half way through a day ride, I am recovering from a running training session yesterday, planning a long run tomorrow, and stocking to the low carb diet for a very late lunch. Don't know.
