Tiny Creek: October 2006
http://tinycreek.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Oct 30, 2006. Tune in to Twenties. But I don’t want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked. Oh, you can’t help that,' said the Cat. 'We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.'. How do you know I’m mad? You must be,” said the Cat. 'or you wouldn’t have come here.'. Tweens is a nice stage to be in, with the plethora of excitement it brings. Eight paychecks later, I learnt that the twenties meant more than just fun, friends and work. Big pictures sometimes emerge out of the fine print. I could have bit my l...

Tiny Creek: March 2007
http://tinycreek.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Mar 29, 2007. She parked the car and took the lift to the third floor of the apartment. The pitch dark hallway came to life with the click of the switch. As a matter of another routine, she walked towards the large window that stretched out beautifully into grayish blue world, dotted admirably with little twinkles and a crescent white. She took in the gentle breeze and proceeded to wash off her tiredness with a hot shower. Even the peak summers never deterred her from taking the shower hot. Mar 8, 2007.

Tiny Creek: August 2006
http://tinycreek.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Aug 31, 2006. Amidst little children waving the tricolour, shopping malls doing up festive windows, long weekends, well planned short vacations and the smell of wet earth, something else filled the August air but didn’t quite make it to the popularity charts. Towards the end of the first week, newspapers were suddenly sprinkled with advertisements that announced special dinner and entertainment packages on Aug 14. 8220;A wait of one year can be agonising,” screamed one ad. Blame it on lack of planning or...

Sep 28, 2009. A new column on this blog. I have been mulling over this for quite a long time, in fact soon after reading author Sudha's Murthy's work by the same name. With the recently formed new connection, the timing could not have been better. From Where I Left. All I would say, it's nice to be back and hope to enjoy every moment of blogging! So, that is that! In Wise and Otherwise. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Exploring nooks and crannies. Packing for the next trip. A Slice of Life.

Tiny Creek: June 2007
http://tinycreek.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Jun 26, 2007. Statue of Liberty is one of the first things, which visitors to NYC plan for. The cruise to the island takes you close to the majestic imposing structure, draped in green. You don’t get bored even in the waiting queue before embarking the cruise boat. There are entertainers ready to play. Sare jahan se accha. Or a juggler demonstrating his skill. One of them even sings for “pretty girls from Mumbai, Hyderabad, Tamil Nadu…! Hey, mind your pallor. It’s turning beetroot red! As the evening was...

Tiny Creek: When Orbits Go Awry
http://tinycreek.blogspot.com/2010/02/when-orbits-go-awry.html
Feb 28, 2010. When Orbits Go Awry. While technically, ok scientifically, no planet can go in a reverse motion, and it's more of an illusionary effect, here I was, gripped in its shadow. In another part of the world, my dear ones had to endure three trips to the airport before they could get lucky enough to be issued a boarding pass. Despite reaching hours in advance, by the time it was their turn in the queue, the aircraft was full! Three difficult weeks later…. In Business As Usual. Akanksha: And you we...

Tiny Creek: November 2006
http://tinycreek.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Nov 25, 2006. But Not Without a Vision (Part 1). Until that fateful encounter on the re-opening day of the school, I had confined Hellen Keller only to books. Even as we got into the bus scrutinising for new faces, it halted at the next destination, to let two sisters board the bus. With a little effort and help from their mother and the assistant in the bus, they were made seated. Her birthday was still ten days away, which gave me ample time to understand and decide on a gift. During those little c...

Tiny Creek: May 2007
http://tinycreek.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
May 8, 2007. Even you would think so, if you notice that the only thing the man isn’t doing here is Dancing! This one-man band, besides belting sonorous notes, is using his fingers and toes for the musical accompaniments. And did I mention, without caring for the audience, applause, critical acclaim or the Grammy. This sight at Boston’s popular Quincy market is a lesson in self-motivation, self-aggrandizement and multitasking. Wonder if Harvard grads nearby are taking a notice of this. Links to this post.

Tiny Creek: September 2007
http://tinycreek.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Sep 7, 2007. Sunflower in My Garden. Few days ago, tending to a couple of plants I turned quite nostalgic. On a different note, some of them have been complaining of the long sabbatical my blog has gone into. The timing couldn’t have been better to reproduce one of my favourite articles. The journey proved to be a perfect foil to what could otherwise have been a perfect ending to the perfect summer holidays at our grandparents' place. How in the world had I forgotten all about it? This time it was Hydera...
