Thursday, 24 December 2009. Here are a few photographs of the preparation behind the scenes for the celebration of Christmas at The Cathedral. All the silverware needs a good polish. These are the four new matching chalices bought for The Cathedral by The Friends of Shrewsbury Cathedral. THey will be blessed and used for the first time this evening at the Children's Celebration at the Crib. We are most grateful to the Friends - thank you. Vestments washed and awaiting an iron! Tuesday, 2 March 2010. Cathedral Welcomes Bishop Mark. On Sunday 28th of February Bishop Mark visited The Cathedral for the first time since his ordination. Bishop Mark presided at the 10.45am Mass in The Cathedral. The celebrations continued in The Chapter House afterwards were a fabulous selection of cakes and fizz was served up to welcome Bishop Mark. Wednesday, 4 April 2012. The Chrism Mass was celebrated in The Cathedral today, at 12 noon, just over half the priests of the diocese were present along with a good number of people gathered from across the Diocese. Bishop Mark invited all the priests present to renew their dedication of priestly ministry, before blessing the sacred oils to be used through out the Diocese during the coming year.
