Took place September 2012. A team of 6 professionals, comprising of an ophthalmologist,. 2 optometrists, 2 orthoptists and a third year optometry student, are currently screening children for refractive errors, squints etc in three primary schools in the Balaka region of Malawi. Bakhita Primary School, Balaka, Malawi. 400 children to be screened. Mr Peter Hong has also been involved in training staff and Clinical Officers at The College of Medicine. 25 acre site for the eye clinic.

How to get involved. There are a variety of ways you can get involved:. Fundraising- good fundraising ideas are always welcome. Support the ongoing events by patronising them. Sponsored walks/runs and other activities are always a welcome way of raising money for the charity. Registered local NGO in Malawi called: Onani Eye Foundation. This is a sister organisation to Sight 2020 Direct to facilitate our work in Malawi. Team travelling out to Mzuzu, Northern Malawi to conduct eye project.
