Rantings, Ramblings, and Randomness: November 2012

Rantings, Ramblings, and Randomness. A blog about writing, motherhood, love, and life in general. Thursday, November 15, 2012. For a Brave Woman. Due to medical privacy laws, we weren’t given much information about the donor liver or the other recipient. That information is exchanged later, if the parties agree to it. Little did I know at the time how much that the other recipient would be a part of our lives. I could not believe that this vibrant woman, who had already been through so much, was gone....

Rantings, Ramblings, and Randomness: A Tale of Two Races - Another Dam 50K and the Dawg Gone Long 50 Miler/50K

Rantings, Ramblings, and Randomness. A blog about writing, motherhood, love, and life in general. Sunday, July 19, 2015. A Tale of Two Races - Another Dam 50K and the Dawg Gone Long 50 Miler/50K. Not my most graceful moment. Anyway.let's talk about running. If you’re a first timer and want to try your legs out on a 50K, this is the perfect race to do just that. And if you’re an experienced ultra runner and want to try for a PR, this is also a good race for that. Running an ultra is sort of like childbirth.

Rantings, Ramblings, and Randomness: February 2013

Rantings, Ramblings, and Randomness. A blog about writing, motherhood, love, and life in general. Sunday, February 10, 2013. Today is Maya’s liver-versary! I have, in recent months, talked to her about taking the pill and swallowing it like a big girl. She seemed eager to do it, but for some reason, I held off. After all, she’s only 6 years old. What if she’s too young? What if it gets stuck in her throat and she never wants to try again? Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Using Harry Potter...

flying fish: It took nearly a month!
http://soaringfish.blogspot.com/2012/09/it-took-nearly-month.html
Inspired by nature, fueled by irony. Tuesday, September 25, 2012. It took nearly a month! I persisted for some unknown reason. so one of the CSR's (it all blurs) had tech send me another little unit. It didn't work. It even caused a blue screen of death on the poor computer. He had me download the CURRENT software. Now I can actually download books from Listen Alaska, I can watch a short youtube video with out waiting 10 minutes. I have modern internet. Thank you tech guy. Posted by flying fish.

Rantings, Ramblings, and Randomness. A blog about writing, motherhood, love, and life in general. Wednesday, March 18, 2015. The Vegan Venture, Part Deux. Both of us have lost a few pounds and we think this is due to the lack of dairy. It is safe to say that TJack and I were addicted to cheese. I didn’t know how much of an effect the lack of cheese/dairy would have on my body, but I like the results. I do get some weird looks when I take some of my concoctions into work. The soup I made this week (Po...

the unstandardized test: February 2007
http://theunstandardizedtest.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Living, loving, learning, married, and still looking for a new career path. in beautiful California. Sunday, February 25, 2007. I find cooking soup to be rather cathartic. During the cold, rainy months of winter I spend many Sunday evenings making soup. Today's soup was a red lentil Thai. At the store, substitute serrano. I had spices with no labels in my cabinet - hmm. Smells like coriander (could be cardamon. Posted by Miss E. @ 8:01 PM. Friday, February 23, 2007. A Kinder, Gentler DMV. Because I found...

Living, loving, learning, married, and still looking for a new career path. in beautiful California. Thursday, April 19, 2007. Quite possibly the very worst day. I have not watched much of the follow-up of the Virginia school shooting. I keep meaning to have a class discussion about it. In fact, some of the parents have asked me if we are talking about it. I could not stomach watching the news about it. Could a few more minutes of my time at lunch or before school have made a difference? Tomorrow I will ...

Living, loving, learning, married, and still looking for a new career path. in beautiful California. Thursday, December 21, 2006. V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N, Vacation, Vacation, Vacation! I wish I lived on a private road in a little farmhouse with a glorious garden of home-grown vegetables. California is a strange place. You can go from urban to mountains or rural in no time. I remember my trip up to the Yolla Bolly and thinking the same thing. Bite me. I am going to put a sign on my driveway too that says priv...
