Rants, Raves, and Writings; Photos, Facts and a "Foreign" Perspective on life in Asia. 30 January, 2008. To understand China, you have to think big. How big? Here’s some number form the recent weather-related and other news reports in China this week. 1 hundreds of millions of people return home annually during [Chinese New Year]. Hundreds of millions that’s at least the entire population of the US, if not more, all traveling at the same time. EVERY YEAR! China is like no place on earth! 13 January, 2008.

Rants, Raves, and Writings; Photos, Facts and a "Foreign" Perspective on life in Asia. 31 August, 2005. Can you read this? If you can read this blog, then you're obviously not in Mainland China. Even as I'm editing and updating this blog, I can't see it "live" online since I'm writing from Shenzhen, China. This is just one of many info-mediums that is edited or entirely blocked by the Chinese Govt. What are they scared of? Posted by dvdd8n @ 11:27 AM. Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. http://theasiafiles.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Rants, Raves, and Writings; Photos, Facts and a "Foreign" Perspective on life in Asia. 22 November, 2007. We went to two places that bear reporting on. First Disneyland. A two year old and a Chinese wife both of whom had never been- that's an interesting day. My two year old hated all the original Snow White, Pinnochio rides but couldn't get enough of the Merry-go-round and Dumbo. Jess loved the "turkey leg" (ham leg) and couldn't believe that Disneyland was 50 years old. Posted by dvdd8n @ 6:32 PM.

Rants, Raves, and Writings; Photos, Facts and a "Foreign" Perspective on life in Asia. 29 December, 2007. Welcome to the Zoo.Your cage is third on the left. I'm not sure why Chinese people think that foreigners are so interesting. Maybe it's because they've not seen a lot of them- I've been telling myself that for 12 years now. Maybe they are just naturally curious. Or maybe they just don't give a damn about staring at other people. We were the center of indirect attention. 20 guys following him around?
