It took some clearing - some of the roots were a good inch thick and needed sawing. To kill off the ivy we are trying Garden Organic's chemical free plot clearing guide. But while Michelle was clearing out the old one, she met a nest of friendly mice. They didn't want to leave. 17 March 2010 at 01:52. We found a mouse in our shed too. It was more a summer house than a shed and a lot more effort to dismantle. I managed to smash one window all over the ground (oops). But it finally came crashing down with no further breakages.
