Thursday, December 30, 2010. In achieving your goals you need to be DECISIVE. Each decision affects what you become. We form our decisions and our decisions form us. The smallest choices are important, over time, their cumulative effect is enormous. Never overlook the obvious: The nature and direction of your life change the instant you decide what goals you want to pursue. Dream it. Plan it. Believe it. A decision is never made only once. This brings you to STAY FOCUSED! INVOLVING OTHERS helps you to ma...

Baking is a Piece of Cake. FFWD: savory cheese and chive bread. Savory cheese and chive bread. From around my french table. I had grand plans for this week’s French Fridays with Dorie recipe. When I saw the Heritage Bundt Pan in a blog, I knew I had to have it. BTW, the platter is something I painted on Valentine’s Day weekend with my boo… yes, I make him paint pottery with me. To see what other people are doing with this recipe, check out www.frenchfridayswithdorie.com. By slongcoat on March 4, 2011.

My food journey - At home and at large. Monday, July 30, 2012. Everybody needs an easy bread to make. Turkish Pide Bread fits the bill. Traditionally this bread was cooked in clay ovens and you could use a pizza stone if you have one but it is just as easy to use a metal baking tray. 1 500 ml measuring jug. Measuring spoons and cups. Metal mixing spoon - I used a dessert spoon. Flat baking tray or pizza stone. 3 cups of plain flour - For this one I used half whole meal and half white. 350 mls warm water.

My food journey - At home and at large. Sunday, December 23, 2012. Santa is coming – so what Sweet Adventure. Will I leave out for him to snack on this year. If I make him something amazing he might just leave me those diamond earrings I’ve always wanted. Christina of the Hungry Australian. Inspired us to think of a Sweet for Santa for our December Sweet Adventures Blog Hop. I haven't been involved in all the blog hops but I do try. Any of the cookies I made for my 12 Days of Cookies. Would fit the bill.

My food journey - At home and at large. Saturday, May 26, 2012. Chai Boiled Fruit Cake. This month’s Sweet Adventures Blog Hop is “What’s Your Cup of Tea? Is the hostess of this month’s blog hop and I was a bit stumped as to what to do as the family aren’t big tea drinkers. Then at the last minute I remembered that the family are big cake eaters. I have a stack of dried fruit and while it does keep it doesn’t keep for ever. So Chai Boiled Fruit Cake it is. 600 ml of boiling water. 150 grams dried figs.

My food journey - At home and at large. Monday, June 25, 2012. Cinnamon cookies, buns and cakes are always a popular item in any restaurant, bakery or supermarket, with or without apples. A cookie or biscuit that keeps well and is quick to make is popular with every cook. I have a tried and true cookie/biscuit recipe that my family loves and I make over and over in many different ways. The recipe- Foaming (or as my husband remembers) Cat Biscuits. Native to Sri Lanka Cinnamomum verum. Is the only one of ...

Adventures and misadventures in the kitchen, garden, and wilderness- plus whatver else the Kat drags in! Sunday, May 27, 2012. May 2012 Daring Bakers Challege: Challah! May’s Daring Bakers’ Challenge was pretty twisted – Ruth from The Crafts of Mommyhood challenged us to make challah! Using recipes from all over, and tips from “A Taste of Challah,” by Tamar Ansh, she encouraged us to bake beautifully braided breads. This month's challenge was so amazing! It was the first thing I baked in my new oven!
