http://mjoyhoffecker.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 29, 2007. Thanksgiving and Drought pictures. Mommy's knitting but this one, even though it was not for Barrett's was still TOO big! Barrett was pretty tired the day after the drive to Mississippi for Thanksgiving. Barrett and Mimi danced away during the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Barrett loved to go shining for deer with Mimi and Ddad. This is the "Ghost of Ddad.". Return from the adventure. No more monkeys jumping on the bed. Yes, that is how he hurt is lip, jumping in the bed!

Kids Tell the Truth Sometimes | Dorminy Anecdotes
https://dorminyanecdotes.wordpress.com/2015/08/04/kids-tell-the-truth-sometimes
Stories From Around Our House. Kids Tell the Truth Sometimes. August 4, 2015. August 4, 2015. Kids have a way of saying what is on their minds. It’s sometimes loving and kind…other times I may not want to hear it. Like when Mack would squish my upper arm and tell me he likes how my arm is so soft. Or when Molly tells me one tooth of mine looks a little darker than all the rest. Gee. Thanks, Molly. 8221; “Why would they vote “no? 8221; “Should we stop paying taxes if the money goes to killing babies?

Stories From Around Our House. To Save, To Give, To Spend, To Stir Up? July 27, 2015. July 28, 2015. Do you ever wonder if you are teaching your kids all they need to know about money? It’s a big job for us parents! Especially when we are learning so much ourselves! We try to talk openly about money and how to save, tithe, spend, etc. 8221; (picture a cute little pitiful, begging face). He asked me, “…Is three dollars good? That’s almost half.”. Anything you give to God you will have forever,. Luke 6:38 ...

“Squirrel!” | Dorminy Anecdotes
https://dorminyanecdotes.wordpress.com/2015/08/03/squirrel
Stories From Around Our House. August 3, 2015. August 3, 2015. I think we’re familiar with the UP movie and the easily distracted dog. A sighting of a squirrel and his focus is gone. I’ve prayed and chosen curriculum, and then I hear about another math someone is trying…”squirrel! We have budgeted and made goals for our money and then we see pictures from someone’s beach vacation and start to doubt that we have made the right decision…”squirrel! So where was I? Purpose, not our own.”. I {heart} my family!

I am still not anxiously looking forward to starting school work with the kids, but I feel certain that once we get started, we will be ready for whatever comes our way! First of all, THIS happened. Ruby went to The Middle School building for Sunday School today. Wowza! 8221; Josh got a kick out of that. I mean, really? The hous...

Stories From Around Our House. July 23, 2015. Been letting these verses roll around my head the last two days.I Thessalonians 4:9-12,. Now as to the love of the brethren, you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another; for indeed you do practice it toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, to. Excel still more,. Love others, even those outside of your family and immediate community that are easy to love. You are com...

https://dorminyanecdotes.wordpress.com/2015/07/25/big-adventure
Stories From Around Our House. July 25, 2015. July 25, 2015. The girls are going to Knoxville to stay with a long-time friend for a few days….and they’re flying alone! I am so excited for them! What a great experience, and I’m sure they will gain some independence along the way. That is part. Of the goal in this parenting gig—to present the world with capable adults that can do things on their own. Molly kept saying, “Good thing we left early! Happy Travels, Girls! Nugget of Truth | Dorminy Anecdotes
https://dorminyanecdotes.wordpress.com/2015/08/06/nugget-of-truth-2
Stories From Around Our House. August 6, 2015. So I know this isn’t breaking news to most parents, but I heard a little nugget of truth the other day. Actually, I read it somewhere on some blog, and I don’t remember where exactly, but this one sentence stuck out to me. Parenting is mostly listening. Listening. It sounds so simple. Effortless even. But it isn’t always as easy as I think it would be. Listening means not talking. Listening means eye contact. Listening assumes I am approachable. Blog at Word...
