Six Months of Summer

Six Months of Summer. Pictures and notes from trotting around Asia. Thursday, January 15, 2009. A morning in Suzhou. The most interesting thing we did in Suzhou was checking out the local stores. For instance, we found a TV store. A kitchen supplies store (check out those wok burners! And a bath supplies store, where you can get your own wooden bathtub. There were also plenty of local delicacies to try, like little birds (pigeons? And pigs' noses. We stuck with sweet sesame dumplings. Suzhou looked a lot...

Six Months of Summer: August 2007

http://sixmonthsofsummer.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html

Six Months of Summer. Pictures and notes from trotting around Asia. Friday, August 31, 2007. The fog of Hong Kong. We arrived to Kowloon, Hong Kong, on a rainy evening and, in the morning, things hadn’t improved that much. The sky was still covered in gray clouds. We walked along Nathan Road, the main drag of Tsim Sha Tshui (the south part of Kowloon) in search for breakfast and, by the time we reached the harbor, we were carrying a couple shopping bags. Forget Singapore! Wednesday, August 29, 2007.

Six Months of Summer: A Walk on the Town

http://sixmonthsofsummer.blogspot.com/2009/01/walk-on-town.html

Six Months of Summer. Pictures and notes from trotting around Asia. Friday, January 2, 2009. A Walk on the Town. European Architecture around the French Concession. A view into a courtyard. The two-wheeled vehicles and the laundry hanging outside are Shanghai staples. A well-lit building downtown, opposite the historical People's Park. The lights and crowds of Nanjing Lu, where all domestic and international tourists must set foot at least once. Another view of Nanjing Lu.

Six Months of Summer: September 2007

http://sixmonthsofsummer.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html

Six Months of Summer. Pictures and notes from trotting around Asia. Wednesday, September 26, 2007. The shrine of shrines and the scenic spots of Nikko. A circle with three heart-shaped leaves, and straight ahead a stairway that leads to the Toshogu shrine itself, which is known by its lavishly decorated and profusely carved buildings. Monday, September 24, 2007. On our way to the Imperial Garden, we passed by Tokyo Tower, modeled after its Eiffel counterpart. There were a lot of artists trying to depict ...

Six Months of Summer: February 2008

http://sixmonthsofsummer.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Six Months of Summer. Pictures and notes from trotting around Asia. Thursday, February 28, 2008. Buddhas that aren't golden (for a change). The jade statues aren’t all there is to see in the temple. I found two other interesting statues, the Laughing Buddha (also called Budai), and the armor-clad Veda. There was also a curious depiction of a female deity, Guanyin, whose particular role in the Chinese Buddhist pantheon I cannot recall. The incense burner in the main courtyard. Sunday, February 17, 2008.

Six Months of Summer: Yonghe Gong (Lama Temple)

http://sixmonthsofsummer.blogspot.com/2007/07/yonghe-gong-lama-temple.html

Six Months of Summer. Pictures and notes from trotting around Asia. Thursday, July 26, 2007. Yonghe Gong (Lama Temple). A lion on each side of an entrance is a very popular feature in the Forbidden City and there is a couple here too, at the Lama temple. Even though they both have manes, this one is a female. You can tell them apart because the female is holding down a cub (and the male, a ball.). The protector of the Buddhist scriptures. The Buddha of the present. Incense burning in one of the courtyards.

Captura momento recorda pensamento : capture moment remember thought.

Posted by Betty Boop @ 5:25 da tarde. At 15 dezembro, 2008. Ver o meu perfil completo.

#sixmonthsofmylife - 20 y/o swedish girl in Australia

20 y/o swedish girl in Australia. December 3, 2015 11:14.

Hokey Pokey (What this blog's all about). A writing challenge I've given myself to write every day for six months. After some posts, I'll put in a comment with a brief explanation of the inspiration for the piece. Some posts will be practice for bigger projects: character sketches or settings. I don't really know what all will happen which is why I'm doing it. Sunday, July 1, 2012. Six Months Salty. A shared story of living the dream | "Lifes journey is never ending"

Six Months Salty. A shared story of living the dream. August 14, 2014. We have already met some great people in our time here. On one sunset visit to Cable Beach we were walking back through the car park and noticed another Bay Window Kombi. We got talking to the young couple that owned the Van Anthony and Katie who told us they were already 2 years into their journey in the Van. And we thought we were on a big journey! Anthony and Katie bringing back the 60’s in style. We also manged several journeys to...

Yes, now I remember what a big city smells like

Life on the bus. The charger is seated in the middle of the bus. Here he controls who goes on and off, and that no one gets on at the exit door (which would leave this person not paying). He also controls and gives a sign to the driver when everyone that intended has left the bus and the driver might close the door and take off again. The charger is the one that has most contact with the public. On the photo above helping a woman to get off at the right stop. Flag on the clock. This part of the sidewalk ...
