A little blog to allow friends and family to keep tabs on us as we wander around France, Spain and Italy for a few weeks. Here’s our itinerary:. France where John’s company has been building a new Sunpower. Factory (and John’s home for the past couple months). June 16-21: TBD, probably Toulouse. For us and Poland for John (work trip). Spain (for John’s bike ride in the Pyrenees, the Quebrantahuesos. June 25: South of France: Cabrières. June 26: South of France: Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. Fly home on July 9!

Things not to do in Paris with kids. I love this blog, Oh Happy Day. 8212; and was excited to find this great list of 10 things to do in Paris with kids. The endorsement of Le 104. And particularly of the bug carousel. Was too much to resist. I looked up Le 104 and saw that it was a 45 minute Metro ride or a 20 minute drive. And that was pretty much it. There are a lot of carrousels in Paris, but I made the kids wait for this one. They rode it, all four jam-packed in the basket of the hot air balloon, and then ate crêpes — with lemon and sugar, just like they like them in our kitchen at home. A few minutes after I took this picture, the tower lit up with a thousand sparkling, dancing lights. JP’s jaw dropped open, and Grace jumped up and down with joy. Even the gendermarie. The Brazilian actress we met at Jim Haynes’ party. Recommended we go to Giverny. So on my birthday, we did. It was lovely. Beautiful flowers everywhere, as one would expect. And — of course — Claude Monet’s waterlilies! We loved watching little baby ducklings walk across them, and a fat frog holding onto one like a child at the side of a pool.
