Betty’s Cinnamon Apple Cake. 1/4 tsp. salt. 4 cups chopped apples. Beat eggs, oil and vanilla: add sifted dry ingredients. Add apples and nuts. 1/2 cup brown sugar. 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Mix and put on top of apple batter. Bake in greased 9×13″ pan for 35-45 min. at 350 . 1 3/4 cups chopped or shredded apples (about 2). Mix and let stand 10 min. Our Orchard’s History. The story of Ski-Hi Fruit Farm dates all the way back to 1907 when a young, aspiring farmer named Arthur Kamp Bassett (known as A.K. to his friends) bought the property from German immigrant John Weidenkopf. Mr Weidenkopf had received the property from the federal government as a land grant for his service in the Mexican-American War.
