The Isle of Harris is renowned worldwide for its crafts and traditional lifestyle, this is after all, the home of the famous Harris Tweed. I live in Finsbay a typical village along the east coast of Harris and located on the famous Golden Road, so called for the amount it cost to build. South Harris boasts one of the few areas on the islands where you can do a circular tour. Follow the Golden Road to Rodel and come back via Leverburgh, taking in some of the beaches our island is also famous for.

Dometic Origo HeatPal, Gaslow Refillable cylinders, and off-grid caravanning. With this freedom comes flexibility, as there is less need to book mains-free pitches in advance. A solar panel keeps the batteries topped up, but a consequence of unplugging from the mains is a greater reliance and higher consumption of LPG (bottled gas).
