Monday, 25 August 2014. This weekend sees the last of the 3 Santa Pod VW weekenders. All the usual guff and nonsense with the added bonus that it's VW-only RWYB (plus invited guests) so no lines of Corsas etc clogging the fire up lane. Monday, 18 August 2014. Don't Call It A Comeback. Less than 2 weeks after the Slough Swapmeet shuffled off this mortal coil a group of enthusiasts have come together and performed CPR. Details are still being finalised but it will be at Montem Sports Centre, Slough on November 2nd. As well as the swapmeet there will be trophies for classes yet to be decided. Was formed in 1992 by a group of young Hertfordshire VW owners who wanted something different to the usual Old Buffer Owners' Club. There was a monthly meeting at the Red Lion pub in Hatfield and numbers quickly grew, peaking at over 200, and the club had a good stable of show cars and trophy winners. And we're still doing it! We have teamed up with the guys from Slough Swap Meet. They have organised all our bands and audio this year. Not the Rolling Stones. And they're playing on our main stage. The Cobbles are an explosive band bringing the best disco, pop, funk, rock and soul hits from as far back as the 50's! Spirit of the State.
