Start Slow and Taper. Running, Biking and Swimming as a weekend warrior. Week 3 training review. Returning to Running →. March 13, 2011. After the first 3 weeks of the marathon training program I decided not to run the Lincoln Marathon. My conditioning had gone down way to much to train for a full without re-injuring myself. I currently do not have a race scheduled but did do my first 10 mile run since March 7th, 2010. I will be getting this combined program updated starting today. Week 3 training review.

Start Slow and Taper. Running, Biking and Swimming as a weekend warrior. October 18, 2011. Starting tomorrow, October 18th, 2011, I’m going to start running 3 miles Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and build up to 10 miles on Sunday. The alternate days I will get on my bike on the trainer and get my biking miles built up also. Plan to run outside as much as possible through the winter and go to the gym only when the snow makes it too slick to be outside. Looking forward to returning to the road.

I’m excited about this as the Garmin 305 is giving me speed, distance, cadence and heart rate on the indoor trainer. This is making the indoor spinning much better. The biggest issue right now is not the fitness of riding but the numbness I’m getting sitting on the bike for an hour. One week closer to marathon.

My calf has not been hurting while running but after my Sunday run I bumped the inside part of my leg where the calf meets the shin and it was painful to the touch.
