Very quick update! | Sweat Alchemy

https://sweatalchemy.wordpress.com/2012/09/19/very-quick-update

The scientific and magical process of converting fat into IRON – the road is long, embrace the journey. Bet you thought I’d never post again! September 19, 2012. If I get through the swim, AND the bike… my swim will also start at 7am and I am looking at 9 1/2 hours or so to complete both the swim and the ride (I have mentioned that I am pathetically slow? Just kidding… (kinda). Just found out that the event MAY have to cancel the swim! But clear as a bell… sigh). I’m a little nervous – I just...Whatever ...

The scientific and magical process of converting fat into IRON – the road is long, embrace the journey. Normally – this is where I should have a carefully laid-out training plan that balances swimming, biking, and running with long-slow distance workouts, short HIIT speed workouts, and moderate technical/hill workouts – all while adding in plenty of strength training, flexibility, and recovery days. The scientific and magical process of converting fat into IRON – the road is long, embrace the journey. Ok – in-your-face honesty time. My eating habits have been truly truly embarrassingly horrible for the last… (how old am I? Which of the many incarnations of these diet plans do I follow? I’m kinda proud to be somewhat consistently achieving 50/50. Bit by bit over the next 4 months I hope to move into the 80/20 range. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. The scientific and magical process of converting fat into IRON – the road is long, embrace the journey. This neighborhood is going to the dogs…. Doing the Impossible – Post 2. August 11, 2012. There are some absolutely amazing books out there – and people are demonstrating that it is time to re-define the word “possible” when it comes to the capacity of the human body. My most recent fascination has been the book Finding Ultra by Rich Roll. Http:/ www.richroll.com/finding-ultra/. The other amazing part i...

Of course, my only thought is “there’s always a first time.”. 8230; so I didn’t completely wimp out. Loooooong story short – workout modified, but completed. I AM doin...

The scientific and magical process of converting fat into IRON – the road is long, embrace the journey. August 31, 2012. I know I haven’t posted in forever – sometimes real life just gets in the way. At this point we are down to 3 weeks left until the Redman Triathlon, and I’m facing some serious reality checks. As for the official Ironman Austin 70.3 – completing all of the distances within the time cutoffs is just not likely. Again, I’ll start and give it all I’ve got! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Bet y...

Inspiration | Sweat Alchemy

https://sweatalchemy.wordpress.com/inspiration

The scientific and magical process of converting fat into IRON – the road is long, embrace the journey. First thing to mention here is the difference between motivation and inspiration. Some days, our motivations are insufficient to drive us to surmount our obstacles – and we need more. The fire is banked, the coals are fading. In order to fan the flames back to life, and renew our drive and passion, we must reach for something outside ourselves. This, then, is. I will provide links at times to sites tha...
