Our Small Farm in the Woods: December 2013

http://www.smallfarminwoods.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Our Small Farm in the Woods. A family learning to be more self-sufficient in southern Maine. Monday, December 16, 2013. Love Is In The Air. Huck and Tom have been in rut for the last couple of months and the time has come to put them to good use. The smell hasn't been that bad around the farm, but when you get close to them you can really smell them. Along with the musk smell that comes from their glands, they also urinate all over their front legs and face. This must really turn on the ladies.

Our Small Farm in the Woods: Cookin' with Wood...in Style!

http://www.smallfarminwoods.blogspot.com/2014/05/cookin-with-woodin-style.html

Our Small Farm in the Woods. A family learning to be more self-sufficient in southern Maine. Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Cookin' with Wood.in Style! Since our home has two wood burning stoves that we use all winter long to heat our home, we have often dabbled a little in cooking with wood. Now, thanks to our awesome Craigslist find we can do so in style! Mr J did bake a couple of loaves of bread on it this spring; one turned out perfectly, the other, not so much. One Earth Revolution: Vote! Whenever You Get the Chance

http://oneearthrevolution.blogspot.com/2015/07/vote-whenever-you-get-chance.html

Friday, July 17, 2015. Whenever You Get the Chance. My nephew turned 18 last week. I made him a card that said "Yippee you're 18! On the outside flap. Lifting the next flap revealed the message. "You can vote." And lifting the final flap revealed some cash and the message "So, can a buy yours? So how do we change this trend? And how do we change the system so that people feel empowered rather than disenfranchised? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Subscribe To One Earth Revolution.

One Earth Revolution: From Market and Pantry

http://oneearthrevolution.blogspot.com/2015/02/from-market-and-pantry.html

Saturday, February 21, 2015. From Market and Pantry. So, here I am again the prodigal blogger, back from another long hiatus to report on how our experiment worked out with eating only from our market finds and our pantry for 21 days. In a word, failed. But that is too simplistic an assessment, because we learned a lot from the experiment and in that regard it was a huge success! So what did we learn? This is a great resource and ties in quite nicely with a modern lifestyle. It's also great for findi...

One Earth Revolution: June 2015

http://oneearthrevolution.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Monday, June 22, 2015. Here I am again after another long absence. I've had a lot of thoughts about the drought in California, about the permaculture principles, about alternative economies, about building community, but I haven't taken the time to sit down and write, because I've been a bit self absorbed lately. I would love to tell you that I've been very busy with extremely important things. And to some degree I have been. Check out this link to see what I've been up to. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

During the same time period caloric intake on average increased by almost 22%! Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Reflections on Giving Tuesday. Perhaps we should examine why this is a busy and stres...

Kate had her baby! Our last doe, Princess Kate, had her baby. She was the smallest of the does, so I’m not that surprised that she was bred later than the other two. In fact, for next year, I’m going to plan to have kids around this time. The weather is a little warmer and there isn’t an icy wind cutting through the barn. Continue reading →.
