Friday, May 14, 2010. Wish I Could Have 19 Kids (not really). Reason why I love the show is. On a side note, Abby has been begging me lately to have another baby. At first I thought her daddy was putting her up to it, but he's claiming he hasn't said a thing to her on the subject. So this morning I was fixing her hair, and she started in on it again. Don't you want to have another baby boy, Mama? No, Abby. Mama's done having babies.". Then how about a baby sister? Don't you want another one, Mama? It was...

Doing the Next Thing: Easter Pizza

Doing the Next Thing. Thoughts on the joys and struggles of one Mom's journey of loving my husband and children and being "busy at home." (From Titus 2:4-5). Tuesday, April 10, 2012. I planned a really yummy Easter menu: boneless leg of lamb with mint balsamic drizzle, roast chicken (for the non-lamb-eaters), sweet potatoes, asparagus, fancy green salad, and homemade lemon meringue pie. And it was GREAT! This may go down in history as one of my favorite Easter Dinners ever! 1 Peter 1:3 ESV). Love you, Dad.

Saturday, February 22, 2014. Bottom of the Drink. Just saying that word sounds so ugly. Have you been forced to undergo humility training lately? I sure have. I think God looks down on me and says,. Well, Sara, you asked for this. You asked for Me to search your heart and know your thoughts; you asked Me to find any way of pain in you and then lead you in My way, the everlasting one. Yes, I did. Wow. I have a chronic imbalance. On my knees humbled. Face buried in His feet humbled. Do we still lack? It...

Carmichael Corner: Beautiful (Chilly) Seaside
http://carmichaelcorner.blogspot.com/2012/09/beautiful-chilly-seaside.html
These are from July. Yes, I'm so behind in my pictures. You wouldn't believe the process it takes to go through the amount of pictures we take. And at this point, in the middle of home-schooling.fuggetaboutit. This is gorgeous Seaside, and as you'll see, we're all donning jackets (well, most of us). It's just plain chilly, even in the middle of July. Essie's hug (above) caused sand to get in Caleb's eyes (below). My nieces Chloe and Riley). Why all the pictures of Esther? My sweetheart and I.

Carmichael Corner: August 2012

Almost every year we try to take some kind of a quick trip down to Seaside when we visit Eric's folks in Hillsboro. The kids love the rides and the beach and merry-go-round. Here they are getting a taste of Tilt-A-Whirl. Anticipation is killer. :). Getting ready to start our ride on the bumper cars. Abby held her own. Afterward we enjoyed a nice lunch at Sam's Seaside Cafe. 53rd Avenue Community Park. Here they're waiting for it to be dished out to them. :). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Carmichael Corner: October 2011

Strawberry Picking (Peachy Pig Farm). These reminds me of Dora's berry-hunt song: "Going on a berry hunt. Gonna pick some juicy ones. We're not scared. What a beauuuuuuuuutiful day! Peachy Pig Farm - Part I. Okay I take a lot of pictures. I especially took way too many at this place called the Peachy Pig Farm because the location was just so idyllic, it seemed to scream pictures. This was back in July, that's how behind I am with editing through my pictures. The kids had a blast, needless to say.

Carmichael Corner: July 2011

Some days visiting the grandparents were filled with busy and go, go, go, but most days were more mellow. These were the days the munchkins scrambled behind Grandma's great big raspberry bushes and came away with red-tinged lips, days where they played in Grandma's backyard fountain and broke her glass figurine (sorry, Grandma! 4th of July BBQ and Fireworks. Okay Eric is responsible for taking the above picture. Goofiness. :). They even had board games. How clever! Caleb's mode of transportation in the p...

Doing the Next Thing. Thoughts on the joys and struggles of one Mom's journey of loving my husband and children and being "busy at home." (From Titus 2:4-5). Thursday, June 14, 2007. Well, here I am! The title of my blog comes from an old poem Elisabeth Elliot, one my heroes, is fond of quoting. Enjoy! Do The Next Thing. At an old English parsonage down by the sea,. There came in the twilight a message to me. Its quaint Saxon legend deeply engraven. That, as it seems to me, teaching from heaven. In His d...
